Good eye! He must have taken it off. It looks more like a rub/crash bar than a bumper. It does look better with it off! Mine looks like its held on by 3 screws.

I have a black one. Somebody creamed the bottom of it.
I know, Pathetic!!!
I am so far from being knowledgeable about these but isn't the tan interior a repaint also?

He probably just took them off. The one I recently bought had "bumpers" that stuck out in the front & rear. Seems to me they're meant to protect the body. Removing them makes it look more realistic. (IMHO)
I could not stop but LOL when I read these posts. I found this forum while searching for similar chevy ssr rc cars and could not help but join to post. I ended the ebay auction early because I had an offer of $200 cash plus cost of shipping to a canadian buyer.
Let me assure those with doubts, the car is original black and was in excellent condition. When I inspected the bottom of the body through holes and seems in plastic I could easily tell that black was the original color and it was not a repaint.
I have since wished that I would have let the auction run its course and see what it would have gone for in an open auction but I could not turn down the money in hand at that moment. I invested it into a Kyosho blizzard df-300
Also on bumpers question, I sell 1:6 scale new bright vehicles on ebay regularly on that account and almost always take off the cheezy fake large OVERSIZED bumpers that new bright puts on many of the vehicles. Most are only held on by three screws each and are easily removed and re-installed if desired.
Does anyone think I could have made more then $200 off of it if I would have let the auction run its course??

Happy with outcome in the end!
I can agree with darkeside.... I am the guy who bought it from him. Was $200 US +shipping+ brokerage and handling came in at $375 cdn.. It IS original black... does have the gawd awful tan interior (which is also original).. I might redo that just for "authenticity" Had to find an antennae as the original was damaged. and had to redo the contacts in the remote as reverse didn't work. But it was in OK shape and now it runs swell. No original box and no manual. but got a manual from another member here... thanks JimBob!

If you get or have more of the New Bright SSRs, post up here that you do as a lot of Fanatics still want one. Glad you found us and decided to join us here!

Any idea of how many of each color of the 1:6 scale New Bright made/sold?
