My SSR: Pearl over UV tu-tone - "PurLple" w/ custom billet rallye wheels/baby moons & wide whitewalls, 4:56s
here's the first checkbook cover
this one I call "Lesson's Learned" It is for my Mom. As far as the Impala, just ignore that, it's a car that's been in the family since Mom & Dad ordered it from the factory in 1960. I will replace that with a tooled SSR.
At least you get the idea about the hair-on insert - hugely difficult but I think I worked it and yes the chrome spots are necessary.
.
.
UPDATE - interior pictures are in post #77, and better pictures of the bowtie are in post #108. Price in post #82

what I'll do for the top-bound checks is slightly different. The cover will be a bit shorter over-all and the 2 dark leather pieces on the inside will be the same measurement as each other thus the ledger and the checks will slip behind either one. For the check book in the picture I made the checks themselves slide in on the totally tooled side for a smoother writing experience. I hope that makes sense. So, I'll need to know which book when people order a cover.

yes, the Stars and Stripes will be made, just don't know who's name to put on it

speaking of names, I can tool on the username or your last name, All upper case. And numbers too.

here we go again
Holy moly did I have fun making this one - NOT
The inlay of flames was way too time consuming and still didn't turn out as well as I had hoped. If only I had a laser to cut the two pieces then they would fit precisely but then you'd have to pay thousands of dollars for the cover so I guess not. The curves and pointy parts are tough to do. And with that knowledge I have decided to only offer the bowtie in the inlay area. At least it's got straight lines and friendly corners. That and the chrome spots and color suit it.
I also included a few pictures of the inside so you can see the slit for the checkbook.
.
But now you can see the first ever SSR tooled on the one side. I also switched up the stitching slightly and I like this one better.

aha, now that's what we were talking about a few weeks ago but I was thinking of that cheap plastic stuff for the flap and it would end up cracking from the stitching and bending. I see on your link they use the same interior leather for the flap. That would work, I could do that I don't need that for my checks so had never seen it on a cover before.
Question - if the flap was 6 inches long that should cover the writing area lengthwise right? And how about 2 & 3/4 inches from the edge, up from there should cover past the date line right? I don't want it to wrinkle by hitting the checks binding.
I'm not sure why the cover, shown on your link, is so long - 7 & 1/2 inches The checks are only 6 inches long.

O.K. everyone; Price for the cover - Customized with your name and Delivered to your door: $75
I need to know what style checks your have - do they tear along the top or the left hand side?
Will you need the carbon check flap? Let me know one way or the other please
Do you want your username in the name-frame? or last name? Maximum is 11 characters for the covers that house the checks that tear from the left hand side. And maximum is 10 characters for the covers that house the checks that tear across the top.
One side will have the gold hair-on bowtie with chrome spots (as shown in post #61) and your name-frame. The other side will have the SSR tooled along with the corner tooling (as shown in post #77). All covers are that same chocolate brown you see in the pictures above.
You can send me a check (just one of your checks will work, I have a U.S. checking account as well as a Canadian one ) to my mailing address;

My Mom received hers in the mail yesterday. She called me and sounded very excited, over the top thrilled to get it. As she described it I could tell she had a really good look even noticing the Circle 8 that I now use as my signature. I figured she would like that (my dad passed away in 2006 and left me his livestock brand, the Circle 8).

funny you should say that Moody. I got a new tattoo a few months ago..................unlike the trillions of tats out there of skulls and such, mine is a bucking horse that I drew up myself. The artist did a great job. It's on my right bicep and yes the horse is branded
