As a courtesy...you could have offered it on the forum 1st.....who else would value this item but us Fanatics?? So much for keeping it in the "family"

Yes, but this way he gets best of both worlds! free advertising here and maybe some Fanatics to boost up the bid for e-bay.
Beside with only 26 posts how much loyality to the forum can you expect
Not sure I agree with showing the BIN offer? What makes auctions sucessful is people getting caught up in the frenzy and over bidding.
Now that the whole world knows it will probably go for at least that amount might scare a lot of those people away that might have overbid.
(like me)

Very valid points . . .

He is not new to site. Was known as REALPROWLERFAN back in 2004. Met him at Woodward 2004 when Chevy had some of us there for the unveiling of the SSR. He kinda just bashed the R alot and finally disappeared. Didn't miss him at all.

I started out the bidding this morning, had to make sure my shipping address was WA because on first attempt it would not accept my bid with the Canadian shipping address.

People improperly state me "bashing" the SSR. I didn't like the fact that in less than a year, I had lost over $10,000 on my early yellow SSR (I paid sticker) because GM didn't put the "right" motor in the truck from the beginning. I put a deposit down at the first announcement to build the SSR and anxiously waited for mine and posted a lot of insider info prior to trucks being released. Like having a failing stock, at some point you take the hit and bail out and that is what I did. I had no complaints with one of the coolest vehicles out of Detroit, just with the failure of GM to put the right motor in from the beginning. I have owned 4 SSR's since my first one and love the truck. Seems like these forums do a lot of member bashing, which is why I don't post much....

Out of curiosity, Chimpo . . .
What do you consider to be the "average first year depreciation" on any $50K sticker priced vehicle nowadays . . . with or without the "right" motor?
I have purchased many, many new cars,(most speciality cars) and lost lots of $$$ but it's my desire to do so, as I don't golf, fish, hunt or follow sports and spend $$ that way. In 03 economy was a lot better than now and you could lease just about anything. Resale values were certainly higher than they are now on most any new car, which is why now you rarely see leasing ads. Ask any 03 SSR owner who purchased one new, and sure most were upset with their trucks worth within a year..... Then to hear a few months after you purchased your long awaited SSR, about a bigger motor, boom....the bomb was dropped. I think most of the original 03 owners would agree that they weren't expecting such a drop in value which is still obvious today with the value and desirability of an 03 or 04 vs. 05 and 06. I am not going to argue this point....old news.....
