My SSR: Pearl over UV tu-tone - "PurLple" w/ custom billet rallye wheels/baby moons & wide whitewalls, 4:56s
hmmm, I'm not too certain it's authentic. The "g" in wagoner is not at all the same as his signature on the 1 of 25 SS waterfall badges. Just my opinion when comparing the 2.

Thanks, Sandy . . . I was wondering the same thing.
There's no reference to a statement of authenticity or any other type of signature verification. Also, no seller activity since August 2008?
I'm not implying anything but "less than ethical individuals" have been known to hang out here in Tucson.

Yeah, but they had to press really hard when signing those waterfall badges.
That would explain discrepancies.

Maybe not!
It seems like I read about 5 of these Diecasts being signed and auctioned off at a charity event a few years ago. Maybe it was mentioned in "The SSR an American Original" book?

Not sure where either, I remember what you refer to. I recall "The SSR an American Original" referencing 200k diecasts of varying sizes sold pre-production, but not these 5. Charity event raising $1400 rings a bell.

I think these are the ones (at least the ones I was thinking of) but no mention here of the number "5" nor Kurt Ritter signature.
Chevrolet SSR Q&A
Bob Walczyk is one of the key people responsible for taking the Chevrolet SSR from concept to reality, defining the Chevy SSR’s equipment, content and marketing plans.
Before the questions and answers get underway, Bob Walczyk wanted to say:
"First of all, I would like to thank Dave -- the webmaster -- for his interest and cooperation. Also, thanks to everyone for their interest and enthusiasm for the Chevrolet SSR. Your enthusiasm, triggered by the original concept vehicle, is a big part of what is driving the team to get the SSR into production. ...
"There's a couple of interesting events coming up very soon regarding SSR. The Woodward Dream Cruise just north of Detroit is one of the world's largest car enthusiast events. This weekend (Aug. 17-18), the Chevrolet SSR will make a special appearance there. The original concept vehicle will be on display all day Saturday, in a booth offering cool SSR merchandise available for purchase. In addition, the actual production-intent version of the SSR may make its first-ever public appearance in a short drive down fabled Woodward Avenue. ...
"On Friday the 17th of August, Students Against Violence Everywhere(S.A.V.E.) will be offering very unique and rare Chevrolet SSR die cast models on eBayMotors.com. These models will be autographed by Rick Wagoner, the CEO of General Motors. The autographed SSR die cast can be yours, you just have to win the charity auction. One hundred percent of the proceeds will benefit Students Against Violence Everywhere (S.A.V.E.) SAVE is a program created by students that promotes safe schools and communities by educating students about the effects and consequences of violence and engaging students in safe activities that benefit themselves and the community. As of August, 2001, S.A.V.E. has over 800 chapters in 34 states with more than 80,000 members -- an estimated 200 students and 4 chapters join each month. Without verifiable "Provenance" for this specific model it's worth the 20 bucks I paid for mine. The fact that there were SOME legitimate signed editions probably doesn't mean much to a true collector.
