Road Rippers SSR?

Went shopping today and was walking down the toy aisle and found 2 different colored Road Rippers SSRs. I bought them. The boxes were very dusty (must have been in the store a long time) and they were clearance priced. I bought both of them. Don't know anything about them except they have buttons on the bed cover?? they sure look kewl

...

Our Roadrippers up here in Canada come with a switch for both English and French voices.

I gave one to Big Jim as I know he collects toys, and he has done so much for us.
I thought I would give him something he would normally not see / hear locally.

There was a recall on these because they where over the limit on sound decibals.

Fess up bud.

What was the name of the store? This will initiate a nation-wide scouring of that store line for these.....

2004 build date

The one on the right was one of the first SSR toys I collected! The manufactured date on the bottom of the box it came in is 2004.

The smaller r/c SSRs came in three colors, Blue, yellow and the Orange.

They are still available at KMart. I went to another KMart this weekend and found the yellow, Purple on siltver, and blue on green. They also had the Road Rippers little R/C in a mteallic orange. I thought these were recalled, but out of curiosity, I went to yet another KMart in Phoenix and they had all of them also. Boxes are old but good condition...you can tell that they are old stock from the dust.
