05-06 MagnaCharger Coil Covers

It is best to prefit the covers before any paint! The wiring will need to be moved around and you will be putting them on and taking them off several times which will likely leave some scratches. Once they are finished at Paint then you can cover the Coil Covers in saran wrap so they wont get scratched when doing the final installation.

The Passenger Side

The passenger side is the easiest to prep for the covers. Tuck all wiring down and install the 2 Delrin Plastic Stands with the Velcro on them to the 2 screw posts off the coil brackets as shown below. Ensure that the delrin stands are screwed all the way down on the posts so no threads are showing:

The next step is to install the Cover Brackets on the outer 2 fuel rail retaining screws as pictured below:

Move the 2 Heater hoses on top of the Transmission Dipstick for Automatic SSR's:

Install the cover on the passengers side. The hose at the base of the coolant reservoir will go above the cover as shown:

The cover will then clip onto the brackets as shown. Once you are sure they are perfect then pull the cover back off and peel the backing off the velcro that is attached to the delrin stands. Be careful when installing the cover again to make sure that the cover does not come in contact with the sticky side of the velcro until the cover is positioned perfectly:

The Driver Side

The Evap Purg Bracket will need to be removed. Ensure that the fuel pressure is discharged from the schrader valve on the fuel rail for the drivers side first. Then remove the 2 bolts that hold the Evap Purg Valve Bracket. Drill the bracket as pictured below so it will raise the bracket about 1/2". Reinstall the Evap Purg Valve Bracket, ensure that the o-ring is in place or a fuel leak will result:

Remove all the hoses from the drivers side of the supercharger, leave the hose on the Bypass Valve as it is plastic and can break real easily:

Tuck all the wiring down and use some zip ties to hold the wiring in place:

Tuck the transmission harness behind the #7 Plug wire so it is held back close to the firewall:

It is easiest to install the drivers side cover with the alternator removed. This is not necessary but it is recommended to aid in the installation. Once all the wiring is tucked down and back out of the way preinstall the cover so that it is the same height and location as the passenger side. The cover will be held in place by the vacuum lines and Evap Purg Valve:

Once the cover is installed so it matches the passenger side the reinstall the vacuum lines and Evap Purg Valve as pictured below. You can either continue to use the PCV Valve at the rear of the drives side cover or you can use a 3/8" vacuum plug to cap it off and install the vacuum lines as pictured. the cover has a relief so the line can be reconnected if you wish:

Joe finished fitting mine last week. I don't apologize when I open the hood to show off my engine anymore. It looks like a finished product even unpainted. Now to figure out how I want to paint them to add some bling.

These covers are hand laid up Fiberglass in a reverse mold. They come in black gelcoat and are ready to scuff and shoot the color that you want. These are similar to the covers that used to be on the corvette's although these have been redesigned to give full coverage as much as possible and to match up to the fuel rails on the 05-06 MagnaCharged SSR's and TBSS's.

I will be trying to come out with a cover for the 03-04 MagnaCharged SSR's as soon as I can have one for a few days to do prototype work with.

I am just bringing this back up!
