4.10 Gear recommendations

I am looking for the exact parts numbers needed to replace the OEM gears with a 4.10 set up. My gear shop is talking about extra charges if a "torsion design carrier" is needed.

Contact J & S Gear in SoCal (do a search, I'm on my iPhone).

With their gear set, all you'll need is a diff cover gasket, gear lube and posi lube. The install labor should not exceed $ 450.00. If it does, you're paying too much.

4:10 gear change does not require a new carrier. If the shop doesn't already know this, I'd consider going elsewhere.

Does it make a lot of difference on which brand R & P you buy (as far as noise) if they are set up correctly? Strange, Richmond, GM Etc????? Do you have a phone # for Randy's Ring and Pinion?

This is probably way late, but oem gears will typically be the quietest, and richmond the loudest.
