WOW!!!! I am officially a member of the 4.56 club. Picked up my baby last night and what a difference it makes. I highly recomend it to everyone. It does seem as though it weighs 1000 pounds lighter. Also I had them install Greg's Phoenix servo in the trans and it too helped a bunch. Next I am doing the Dynotech long tube headers and cat back system to add to the already installed K&N intake system.

Couldn't do it. Wasn't getting any warm and fuzzy feelings about aftermarket Korean gears for the 6 speed. Nothing available from American Axle, and Strange is building them for the Auto only.
Ordered a set of 4:10 American Axle yesterday. Guess I need to join that more conservative club.

I've got 4.10's in Thumper's '05 and 4.56's in my '06. I like the 4.10's better with a stock engine. If you've got a blower, run with the 4.56's (and I mean RUN)

Thanks, Doug
I had hoped I would get a chance to run with someone with the 4:56 gears at Woodward, but none there.
Talked to Art at Woodward about the 4:10s. Also talked to Harv (Marc NY's friend) about the situation at American Axle. Doesn't look good for a new run of 4:56 gears.
A supercharger is still in my plans, but more of a show than go situation for me. It became a long range plan when #23 showed up in my driveway.

No really blowers like higher gears, I have a Maggie on my SSR and a 10 sec. pro turbo car I race and I run 3.42's with taller tires so it is more like 3.21's in the turbo, I will say you have the weight with the SSR you have to get moving, If it didn't have that I would want 3.42 gears in it, With 3.73's I am in the 5,000 rpm range when I cross the 1/4 mile, Running 12.50's to 13 flat, I don't know if you would get less tire spin with the 4.10's or 4.56's But I have run as low as 5.13's and never seen lower gears get better traction, Some might think diff. as I do know their are a few in here with SC SSR's and 4.56's and love them, Just my 2 cents
My SSR: 2004 Violet, 4.56 Gears,Diablo Sport Tuner,Corvette Servo,Bell Tech Springs,Flowmaster,Sirius radio
4.56
i put 4.56 gears in my 04 a couple of weeks ago, best money i spent so far, also put diablo-sport tuner in and corvette servo at the same time, what a differance it pulls alot harder throgh the gears and it will break the tires loose on the 1-2 shift at 1/2 throttle . fun, fun, fun, i highly recommend it to any one with a 04 nathan

Not running on the track, I like the 4.56's better with the blower. If I was going to race on the 1/4 mile for any amount of time, I would install higher gears.
I have an 05 stick w/ magcharger, otherwise stock, runs 13.20 @ 105mph
with 2.70 60ft times. no traction until 3rd gear.
Yes it is a job trying to get traction with the SSR, I have been racing most my life and it is hard to get any traction, At a good track I come off the line at just over idle, Then go to 1/4 throttle, The tires will break loss but then it will feel like it is wheel hoping and then you can ease into the throttle to the floor most the time, I got a 1.8 60 ft. that way, If you try and come off hard you just smoke till you can't hold it anymore, I have been hearing that they are coming out with 20'' drag radials but don't know when, Don't know how much that will help with little to no side walls but it can't hurt, Have fun
