Aftermarket Cam & Head Recommendations

I need some recommendations for an aftermarket (roller?) cam, set of heads and related parts (valves, springs, etc.) for my '06 six speed.

The improvements I already have are a Magnacharger with a 2.9 pulley, C6 throttle body, Stainless Works 3" headers with 3" dual exhaust, K & N cold air intake and 4.56 gears.

I need the recommendations to complement the existing improvements, not work against them. As of the last dyno, I had 489.6 RWHP, 475.5 RWT and 7.32 PSI of boost. I'm looking for the maximum HP I can get for the street on pump premium gas, while still retaining a reliable driver that doesn't get cranky due to modifications.

I live in Phoenix, where the summer temps get to 115 on a regular basis. Most of the driving will be done in 100 or less temps. Thanks in advance for your comments.

No cam reccommendation. You have a roller already...

Heads - here's an idea.

SLP Heads

Those SLP L92 heads are definitely the hot setup for adding serious horsepower but they wont work with a Magnacharger because the shape of the ports is totally different and wont match up to the Magnacharger manifold, that is why that package come with a special intake manifold too, to match the huge ports on those heads. I would love to put that package plus SLPs cam on my 05 but I think there might be a problem with that manifold sitting too low and not clearing the accessories up on the front of the engine.

I asked Joe about this L92/L76 setup and he said; "The intake and heads will bolt right on. The things you will have to change is all the accesories, brackets and drives on the front of the engine to the Corvette or GTO style which is lower for hood clearance."

You can use the L92 Intake and L92 Heads and it will all bolt up and allow the use of the stock engine cover. The L76 intake is a car style lower profile intake and will not work with our accessory drive.

The other catch with the L92 heads (out of the box) is they are 72 cc combustion chambers versus 64 cc for the LS2. This means a loss of compression of about 1 point. Might be a real interesting combination of a supercharged LS2, otherwise you'll need to mill the heads to get the combustion chamber size down. That is the detail about the SLP setup that is nice is that they have already taken care of that.

Joe,
L76 manifold - accessory drive mounting. Are we looking at a no way situation or just a need of more parts?

Art - You would need to convert to all the C6 accessory drive brackets in order to drop them all down and clear the throttle body location. It can be done, give me a call I would love to talk about it.

What I really need to do is to go over everything in person one day soon. Just got to get a few more things cleared up on the home front first..
As usual, thanks for helping.

So, what's the best combination for a supercharged LS2?

The intake for the supercharger is not done to bolt it up to the new L92 Heads. A good cam with the specs I noted in a pm to you is the way to go for a little more punch. If you dont have the specs anymore then send me a pm and I can give you the specs to call Comp Cam with.

Here is the specs for the cam I used in my 03. This was done by competition cams
Grind LS1 3721R/3722RHR 114+4
INT. 222-114-581
EX 224-114-581

Stock 190-114-466
191-114-457
It really made a difference but gas mileage went to hell.Around town about 10-11 on the road about 15-16. Hope this helps but remember mine is an 03.
