anyone know how much a 4.56 will take off the 1/8?

Just curious...

I have a buddy who just got his Dream Car (2001 Z06) and he has been pestering the **** out of me because he says my 3/4 ton truck doesnt have anything related to a corvette. LOL

Well, I was planning on taking my to PCMforless for a tune and tweak.

But, just havent gotten around to it...SO, I thought I may use this as an excuse to do some 1/8 mile time studies.

I currently have a 2005, 6sod with a 4.56 and K&N drop in filter.

I think fastestlaps.com has a stock 6spd doing the 1/8 in 9.4

Should I be shooting for a 9 flat? Or will I be changing gears too much...?

It really takes a lot to get the 5,000 pounds of SSR to launch hard. You will find the weak link in launching the 6-speed to be the upper control arms on the rear suspension. If you get tires good enough to launch well, you will have the rear tires leaving marks on the front of the inner fender liners. BMR makes some great bars to replace the stamped steel "U" channel ones.....

Good luck...... Remember...... It's all a matter of physics.
