Auxillary Fan Kit

Has anyone installed the Simple Engineering Auxillary Fan Kit. If so, how difficult was the installation and does it keep the engine cool when in stop and go traffic?:

I have Mike's replacement fan (replaces the oem). That took care of everything (and its hot here in Mesa, AZ!) I did not need the aux fan. Mike installed it for me. Looked pretty straight forward and simple to install. Just pm Mike. He's a great guy! (I have the luxury of being just a half hour away from him.......he knows his SSR stuff!)

I am in Florida and Mike is in Arizona (I believe). So you just replaced the OEM fan with Mike's? Did Mike mess with the temperature settings?

If you are a novice and can follow instructions, it will take you about 3 hours. If you have done a couple, it will take you about one hour. I'm down to about 30 minutes..... but then, I think I've installed about 10% of the 300 in service........ The instructions are on the "Download" portion of my web site and are pretty thorough.

Yes, the Aux Fan will do a good job of reducing the heat load in stop and go traffic. It only moves about 900 cfm of air, but it is just the right size for what it needs to do.

Regards,

Mike

I installled the aux fan and it's the one best add on I've purchased. It saved me when the oem fan went out and it gives me peace of mind. THanks, Mike.
