Break-in Period for New Gears

I just got my SSR back yesterday with the new 4.10 gears installed, I have seen several people talking about breaking in the new gears before running them hard, how many miles should I break them in before I can start standing on the gas pedal ? I am anxious to take it back to the drags and see how much I can shave off my best time of 13.79 with the stock gears.

I believe it was about 500 miles, varied speeds, when I did the 4.10's in my Cobra.

I had my 4.56's done by a guy with 40 years experience. He said to let them warm up then cool a few times before I really got on it. No noise here.

My 411's

...about the same here. I was told to go no more than 25 miles ( one way ), then let them cool off. Do this for a total of about 200 miles.
I was also told that a little 'goosing of the gears wouldn't be a big factor either.

gears

I was told by speed shop to warm up the gears good on a few fifty mile or longer drives at hiway speed before roding the vehicle. Let the gears cool down between each drive. Do not drop the clutch before this procedure as teeth may be damaged but will harden with this tempering of the metal.
