Question Catalytic Converter

Is there really such a thing as a High Flow or Performance Catalytic Converter ?

Yah, if you go from 2" pipes to 3" and the honeycomb is 2" thick and only 1 in the converter.

MAGNAFLOW makes high flow cats. The spacing between the squares in the honeycone are bigger, thus allowing more flow, but the same amount of catalyst contact area. There are other brands too, I'm sure there are flow spec sheets for them like there are for mufflers.

If you like the tone of your R at this point, you should not change the cats.
I changed mine and didn't like the sound, as a matter of fact I hated it. I then purchased another Y pipe and put everything back. Sound was not worth the few HP gain.

My SSR:
2003 "Ilsa" True Duals w/Jones Glasspacks, Eibach Springs, Addco Sway Bars, 4.56 Gears

Before I installed mine, I could see an approximately one inch hole all the way through when holding it up to the light.
