Yeah, but the left leg will look like the "govenator's, Arnold... and the right could look like PeeWee Herman's! I'm pretty sure they both shave their legs too.

Did a clutch flush today It was only slightly orange. but was dot 4. Noticed that the super dot 4 (GM) is about urine yellow right from the container. I thought it was going to be clear. No?

Mine was urine colored too...

Actually I would have said a light golden yellow. But urine is a good description too.

I wouldn't mix them per se, but I believe you can flush the reservoir with the new fluid and get it changed out after about 10 flushes. Check the link in my first post in this thread and I hope someone with more experience will reply to you here.

"If you want to upgrade your clutch fluid, DOT4 is usually compatible with the DOT3. But be sure to read the label on cans you’re considering. DOT4 brake fluid generally has higher dry and wet boiling points than DOT3. Given the minimal price difference between the two, it makes sense to use DOT4." as per Ranger at the vette forum.

Is there a seperate TSB for the SSR, or is the one listed previously in this post (the Corvette one) good enough to show to the dealership?

Also, I just want to make sure I'm experiencing what everyone else is. On high RPM shifts, the clutch sticks momentarily to the floor, but does come back up in a short period of time. This is usually accompanied by a spongy feel in the clutch pedal. also, at times, the resistance in the normal travel range is much different. The first few inches have no resistance, and resistance isn't felt until about 1 -2 inches from fully depressed.

Does this sound like what other have experienced? If there is a different TSB, could you point me to it, so I have a little ammo when I take the R in?

Thanks

This TSB may be applicable to your problem. My clutch was sticking at high RPM and the dealership replaced it under warranty. They do have to take the transmission apart to figure out if the TSB applies and to know which parts to order. My was out of commission for 2 weeks.

If I am reading the code as it seems it would refer to clutches built prior to March 21, 2004. I don't have the first build date on the '05's but one would think very few were built prior to 3/21/04 unless the clutch assemblies were built earlier and stockpiled.

And Tug Boat, you might have mentioned the two weeks in detension when you were saying, "Ya gotta get a 6 speed Cash"!

My was built Jan 2005. I think the date refers to when the parts were made. And just to set the record straight. I did tell you about the the clutch problems, but your permagrin was so wide you may not have heard me.

And by the way, I didn't tell you the only way to find out if you have this problem is to wind up your over 6000 rpm...... wooo hooo wooo hooo

Good. The clutch has a different feel when it is cold out or the has sat for a few days, (which doesn't happen very often). When it is cold, the clutch is softer on top and travels more before disengaging. Once everything warms up it is fine. Took it to the Dealership and they couldn't find anything wrong.

Don't get the hot weather here, so I may just be lucky not to have the problems others are experiencing.
