Completed: 2005 SSR 6 Speed LS2/427 MP122HH at 10 psi Boost
We finished the build on Thursday and the SSR was driven for 5 hours to the National SSR Western Meet in Laughlin, Nevada on Friday. Hank drove it out there on a break in tune and kept it out of boost. It is a 2005 SSR 6 Speed and got 21.5 MPG on the trip to Laughlin. We tuned it for boost on the way to the Laughlin Marina for a Show and Shine event that we were too late to enter (out having fun with tuning). We have a solid 10psi of boost and this thing is a FREAK!!!! It is tuned on 91 octane street gas and will literally pin you in the seat on a launch. We are running a custom set of 17" Boze Wheels and M&H DragMaster skinny front and fat rear tires. Hope you enjoy all the pictures!! Hank also got 22.5 MPG on the 5 hour trip back to Phoenix, Arizona.

Guys that thing looks sweet. I love the way those wheels and tires look with the bigger sidewalls. You make me sick in a good way. Makes me think of spending a lot of $$$$
on this poor little toy of mine
Keep posting love all of this.

i was thinking it needed bigger exhaust tips also.if you still have the stock exhaust on it you would probably get more power with a bigger exhaust from the cats back.i have a 96 chevy pickup with a supercharger on it and changed exhaust after running with stock exhaust and could tell a difference.bosal tips look great on the ssr.the truck looks great.the wheels and tires are awesome.what size wheels and tires did you use?

The exhaust consist of Kook's 1 7/8" Headers and Dual 3" all the way back. See the build-up here - The Next build

Did you really want one in the rain? I didn't think you were man enough, I know I wasn't. I had to baby it all the way home. Taking off from Red lights in second gear just to keep it straight.

Can you post something about where to get the wheels I have been wanting to go 17 inch all around it would certainly solve tire cost and availability, and enhance the 50's look of the trucks.

Hanks SSR is unbelieveably fast!! I was able to get a fast run in it and backed out of it and hit the brakes about 100-150 ft before the line and still ran pretty fast with a 14.01. The run I did was just 1st through 3rd, I pulled 4th gear and hit the brakes. This was the first time down Firebird at around midnight for me and I didnt know the track. Hank backed out of it at about 2/3 of the way down the track each time and had a best of 12.9. I cant wait to see what it will do all out with traction!!! We didnt want to get kicked off the track and want to be able to return for some more dialing in runs. The temp was so cold that the drag radials got hard as a rock. I want to thank Hank for letting me get the last run in. I was real late getting there because I got a ticket on the way for 92 in a 70 zone!!!
Thanks to all that were there, I am sorry we were so late that we missed a bunch of you.

Joe, I don't understand this drag strip stuff as follows: Why not run the full quarter mile to get realistic E.T.?, and why would you get thrown off the track/barred? Rube

We need a cage, drive-shaft hoop and scatter shield if we run what it is capable of. We were doing some shake down runs and want to dial in the launch and everything. If we go below an 11:50 or faster we will get kicked off until we meet the requirements.
