Corvette Servo

I had the servo that Greg (Phoenix Transmission) is providing to our members (thanks Fugi for offering your spare... or should I be thanking Purple Hawk ) installed today by Poway Chev (Umpire 13's shop). John, the tech, is VERY well qualified to perform this proceedure for any locals (SO CAL) that are interested in having one installed. Previous to this I had Joe increase line pressure to make for a more positive shift. The addition of the servo has made it even more positive and my bands should last forever......well maybe not forever... but, the performance difference with increased line pressure AND the servo is FANTASTIC!!!!! I would strongly recommend anyone with an automatic consider this very inexpensive upgrade for both the performance and length of serviceability of their trannys.

Jeff,
Honest... It wasn't that... I got a call from Richard this AM and he wanted to know if I wanted mine done since Fugi (Yellow Bear) had offered me the one they had for Purple Hawk. This was so he could do a "pre-run" and figure out which tools and how much fluid to bring and figure out any shortcuts if possible. It was a tech session for he and his tech at the dealership... no harm, no foul...

Jamie,
I had an advantage... It was run through as a GM something (my extended warranty)... Richard would have to enlighten you about how to go about doing it with your dealer. Most of the people in So Cal are going to have it done at the next tech session in Redlands... It is that simple of a proceedure.. even in MHO... Shoot a PM to Richard and get his advice.

Glad to see you are gunna get back into the pilot's seat !!! YAHOO!!!!!!

...Exceptional lady... Exceptional truck... it figures!!!!

Seriously,
If Betty wants to see the difference with the bump in line pressure AND the servo... she is welcome to drive the Tub along with you. I'm not sure how much line pressure Joe increased yours to, but remember I have the 6L.
I'm really glad I did both... What I do find is although the 1-2 shift is alittle more positive... the 2-3 shift is AWESOME!!!!! ...

especially "under load"... heh heh heh...

now sing this to the tune of naner, naner, naner...
"you're gunna like this"...

Great! I can't wait. My 2-3 shift sux and the lag from OD to pass is like the old powerglide used to be. Hawk just cleans my clock there.

As a reference point: Installation at Freeway Chevrolet here in Chandler was $205 for installation of the Servo, AND one of Mike's Transmission Pans. The $205 includes all required fluid supplied by the dealer.

Thanks, guys, for all your prep work for Redlands. You know none of this would be necessary if you had a 6-speed! The shifts are real solid!

Yellow,

How do you increase the line pressure? Is that a computer tune option or something else? I'm looking at doing the servo this spring. Should be fun!

Roger, Now that sounds like a great reason to head north. By the way, can you tell me on which four days are you going to celebrate Summer this year? I will be there!
Looking forward to meeting you and your bride!

Now stop exagerating Jamie. We had a full week of summer weather last year. When the ice goes off the lake in July we can use the boat for a couple of weeks before it freezes again. The garage has 2 nice Modine heaters to make working comfortable in there. Let me know when you're coming...the guest room awaits.
