A friend of mine drove my SSR last night at the local dragway.I had put in the
the 91 octane setting from my Predetor. The 1/4 mile time was 14.337 at
99.03 MPH. Is this a good time?
My SSR: Silver '05 6-speed, 4.10 gears, Flowmaster, Lakester Wheels, Ground Force springs

Under IDEAL conditions GM used to report 13.8 / 103 mph for the 6-speed model. But factory times are usually difficult to reproduce.
My 05 ran better times than that completely stock. I gained an average of 0.18 from the standard Predator tune. You should be somewhere around 13.85 or so unless you are having a lot of wheel spin.
The 2 most likely problems are 1) Poor quality fuel 2) High inlet air temps
The computer sees both of these and backs out a lot of timing. This really slows it down.

Sounds a little slow to me and I also think octane, humidty, elevation and temp are big factors. Maybe low 13's. I personally don't run mine but I have thought of it.
Been working on and racing mine for a long time, I don't think it is the octane, Have run just about every thing in mine even the high octane racing fuels, Didn't make that much diff., Dont think it would be wheel spin with the LS2 stock, If you are having the weather we are that is a pretty good et, I lose about a 1/2 sec. in this weather and lucky to run 104 mph, I think with some cool weather and a GOOD driver you would see that 14.337 more like high 13.80 to 13.90's, You are not going to see any low 13's from a stock SSR with a Predetor tune, The thing is have fun and try and run as close to that 14.33 as you can and you will win a lot of races and have a lot of fun doing it
What year is your SSR and what mods have you made? Is it an auto or stick?
05,Auto with 91 octane Preator tune.At weigh in it was 5300 lbs. That day
it was 92 degree with 50 humity.Elevation is 702 ft.Fuel was quarter tank full with 86 octane
and half of bottle of 120 boost.
What were the elevation, track and weather conditions?
702 ft.,92 deg,50% humity.I'm not a regular but most drivers say its a lousy
track, very dirty.Whells were not spun. If i was able to make another run.
the driver said he could get 100mph

Well when I said octane doesn't make that much of a diff. I meant 91 - 104 not 86 octane, Get you some better gas, Like some 92, Forget that octane boost, Make sure you are not running on the low octane timming, Wait for a cool down and try it again or like I said if it runs close to your dial in have fun with it
Yes, I agree with Double-L. Get some decent fuel in that fuel tank. The LS2 is desgined to run on 91 to 93 octane.
Duplicating the factory times requires some pretty abusive techniques. With the manual, the GM driver power-shifted. With the automatic, I'm sure they preloaded the converter before launch. Neither of these things is good for durability.
Even with those techniques, the best they did was high 13s and 100 mph with the 2005 test results I saw.
Your weigh-in weight was ridiculously high though too. A STOCK SSR with no fuel in it should weight about 4625 lb, give or take a bit based on options present or absent. Add 6.2 lb/gal times the number of gallons of fuel you have aboard at the time. Add the weight of the driver. With my 04 SSR, 1/2 tank of fuel, and me (235 lb), mine weighed in at a truck stop at 4960 lb or so. Where did you pick up over 300 lb extra?
