DRIVING in the snow....

So I was driving in the snow today and found out that the SSR cannot drive in 8 inches of snow going around a curve...

Luckily after 10 minutes of shovelling and rocking back and forth and getting pushed by 3 other guys I made it out of the Jug Handle (btw, have I told you all how much I hate Jersey Jug Handles!!! even in the summer time!)

The front bumper was plowing snow and finally the traction just gave out......so I would say that it is possible to drive in up to 5 inches of snow as long as you are going straight.

I guess the good news is that my truck is just about to 190,000 miles and I still expect it to make it to 200,000

Be safe....and don't drive like me

When you reach 200,000 miles you could probably get an outstanding deal on one that has not been properly broken in with just 100,000 miles.

Was it really the front bumper or was the air dam under the radiator support the real problem and the front bumper was just the topper on the problem? Some of us really need to know.

Hmmm....I am unsure whether I still have an air dam.
But the bumper was pushing snow and I was on a turn....

I bet your air dam is gone! I lost mine and I don't even drive in the snow. Hate those curbs.

John, John, I thought we discussed your driving at Tech Day in NJ last June.

Remember you complained about NJ then and there wasn't any snow.

And that was NOT SNOW you are pushing!

It is AL CORE'S "GLOBAL WARMING".

I got his NEW Video for Christmas called "GLOBAL COOLING".

He wants another award.

I can complain about anything

It's supposed to be almost 60 degrees by this weekend....so I won't bother shovelling the sidewalks...

I suspect your air dam would have snapped off in the snow some time ago.

I have a shortbed reg-cab pick-up. I just put 4 bundles of roofing shingles in the back for some traction.

Be safe John.

The air dam was missing.

I tried loading down my Silverado, but the SSR does drive much better in the snow....

If I went out in 3 in of snow I would plow with the low air dam on mine, so its a garage king for now with the ga. snow

Go West, young man... Go West ! Here's from the Laughlin Run 2 years ago. It was a couple of days old that day. Just gotta watch out for the transplants who don't know how to drive in the stuff. The whole caravan arrived safely.

Mine was a foot away from 6" of snow...of course, there was a garage door in between.

(really just posting to get rid of that "dud" thread)
