E3 Spark Plugs

Has anyone tried the new E3 spark plugs yet? It,s patented and is suppose to give better gas mileage, performance and better emissions. Plus they are warrantied for 100,000 miles. If anyone has what size fits in the 06 LS2 for our SSR's?

The information on the E3 Spark Plug came from the July issue of Super Rod magazine. The article is called Super Editorial and is on page 6,7 and 8. Sounds like it might be worth looking into. Summit Racing is selling them.

I can't believe no one knows or no one has read about this new spark plug. Someone must know something?

While I have not used the E3, their technology is similar to many other plugs in recent years. The "key" is to direct the plug fire into the combustion chamber so that it burns better. I used Split Fires many years ago on a motorcycle and it indeed seemed to wake it up. I also trimmed a normal plug back with a Dremel tool to expose more of the electrode to the chamber and had the same effect. I ground back the electrode to expose about half of the center conductor. I was told that it is an old racers trick. I can't remember how many miles I put on the car before I had to change them out but they definitely did not have the long wear factor of normal plugs.

You can also try "indexing" the plugs to point the fire towards the combustion chamber better.

There have been many discussions on plug sizing on this site before, some might want a colder or hotter plug, a conversion chart and application sheet is available here so you can select the right one for you: http://www.e3sparkplugs.com/catalog.asp

Although I've played around a little with plugs I'm kind of an NGK fan, they seem to run smoother and just feel better.

the best plugs to put on your SSR are Pulstar plugs gives 7-12 more HP to the rear wheel.

the best plugs to put on your SSR are Pulstar plugs, they give you 7-12 more HP to the rear wheel. they used to be $25.00 each now they may be cheaper . Autoanthing.com sells them, you can also google reviews about these plugs. it is no joke you can tell the difference right away . i have them on my 05 SSR and they rock. they put out 1,000.000 watts of ignition power vs 50 watts on regular plugs.

pulstar plugs

I just put pulstar plugs in my 04, 5.3L. I was getting 19 mpg at 70mph with just a cold air kit and stock tune. I now get 24mpg at 70. I get 27 at 55mph, versus 23 with stock plugs. 85 bucks from autoanything.com. And really, I am an owner, I don't work for these guys. Next after this tank, I will retune with a hypertech unit, and post from there. I have not compared 0-60 times. Now my question is: has anyone tried the electric superchargers out there? I know most of them are crap as they do not have larger enuf motors. The concept sounds good, but even at 3 to 4 hundred for a real one, it's a lot cheaper and easier then a magnacharger. I actually think my 5.3 is plenty fast enough. I have had my racing days, and just enjoy cruising. Besides, there are plenty of cars out there with more horsepower, smaller motors, and waaay lighter than 4ooo pounds, so it will be real expensive to make this thing sick fast. I actually bought this one over one with the 6L.
