Spoke today with a Flowmaster Dealer and he said the Super 44 and 40 was pretty loud. Not really like the glass-pac sounds we used to hear on the 50's
models. The dealer suggested trying the Dyno-max super-turbo....said theysounded more like the old glass-pacs and didn't sound "tinny" like the Flow-Masters.
Has anyone tried or presently using the Dyno-max Super-Turbo?
If so, any feed-back would be appreciated.

Roger was kind enough to meet me and let me listen to the Super 44 he installed. It sounded great! Not to loud and a nice throaty rumble. However, when I called Flowmaster they told me that the part nbr. Roger gave me for his '04 (943048) does not work on the '05. Any one know what the correct Part Nbr. is on the Super 44 for an '05? Flowmaster wasn't sure....I told him my stock muffler has a center inlet with a dual outlet. Don't know why he wouldn't know what the right part nbr. would be!
Help, pls!

Wayneman.... keep me in the loop on how it goes with the Super44.... We too have a 05, and this is one of my planned mods for the spring, but I would love to hear your thoughts first-hand on a 05 how it sounds. My only reservation is I don't want it to be so loud I have to scream to talk with the top down! :-)

Thanks!

I agree! Neither do I....but I can't get the information I need for the part # from Flowmaster....and no one has responed to my post about what the part # is for the Super 44. Hard to believe thatFlowmaster can't tell me the correct part nbr.. I only know that I heard it on Roger's '04 and it sounded very nicel.
But at 70 miles an hour on an interstate...it could be another story! I need to find someone who has put it on an '05 and get some feedback.
Will let you know, if I find out!

Wayne, let me know if you don't find the right part number. I'll go to my guy and he'll find out for you.

Dammit Maui Mike...didn't I tell you what to do? STRAIGHT PIPE. The Flowmaster (at least the Super 40) sounded NOTHING like what you state you desire...its quiet and "pillow-y" and has NO loud obnoxious rasp on the LS2 in the SSR. It is hardly louder than stock outside, but LOUD AND ANNOYING inside the truck. Straight pipe on the LS2 is the OPPOSITE...quiet on the inside (no resonance peak as caused by the Flowmaster) and will TERRORIZE LITTLE CHILDREN when you step on it. It is PERFECT...at least with a 6 speed.

The Corsa Sport is damn loud, in fact, Corsa didn't want to sell it to me because it is louder than the Cali vehicle code allows. I promised them I would lay off the gas when passing the CHP!

I would've given you a demo at the Donut Shop, but it was pretty early for that kind of noise, I didn't want to get run out of there by the regulars.

If you want loud, go with Corsa.....

I love mine... Now get yourself some 5 inch tips to cover up the 7 inch opening...

Bosal exhaust tips. Paint the insides first before you put them on...

What AKWARES said...Corsa Sport on the Matjow 05 come close to waking the dead under exceleration. Don't know if the Dynatech headers add much sound over stock exhaust manifolds. But it's quiet when cruising, top down or up...no problems communicating...unless excelerating.

I instaled the 44 shortly after they came out and love the sound! reminds me of the
60's when we were teenagers and drag racing. I never like the glass pack sound compared to the headers and dont think they sound at all like the old glass packs. but, like anything else, its one mans opinion and we're all intitiled to our own.
I paid around $80 (I think it was 77 at the time) delivered from a guy on ebay. it as a 3" inlet and 2.5 out. go under the car from passenger side and check for sure. I'm pretty certain of the 3 in and 2.5" out. a guy with a muffler shop here installed it for me for $75. before I did anything I asked him and he said he'd have to order it but if I could get, to go ahead and just bring it in. good guy, most dont like to do it that way.
Good Luck. ps it is a lot louder so if you dont like loud dont get it. you get used to it and isnt bad at all on the highway.
