Gear change on 04 auto

I had gear change done on my 04 /auto. (Cost $650 including computer change)

Put in the 410 and had the computer reprogramed for change. Speedometer, Shift change, etc.

Mileage hasn't changed much, IF I STAY OUT OF THE GAS PEDAL, but the performace is better.

They set the gear w/10th gap. They admit it probable should be at 08th. I have a slight click when I come to a complete stop and it shifts down to low. I may be that the tuning is out too, because it is not as responsive when I hammer the pedal. Boggs down some. Tried turning off traction control, didn't help.

Going to have it returned and adjust the rear gear gap, when I return from my business trip.

But over all, I am glad I made the change.

Dick

My 2003 will bog down for a 1/2 second if I WOT from dead stop. I found that pushing the gas pedal down maybe 3/4 and then continue at a reduced rate to go to WOT gives me a great start.

Bog down

Thanks for the input, and you are right, if I don't hit it so hard it goes fine. But I don't think it should be like that, it wasn't that way before the gear change. I am going back and see if it can be resolved.
Let you know how I make out.

Dick,
I have the same problem with WOT as you have after the tune. My speed shop told me that the lag time is due to the fact that several computers have to talk to each other and then convert the electric signal into a mechanical movement. The speed shop has ran into the same problems with the Vettes that he has tuned and he has not been able to reduce the lag time.

If anyone has a program or knowledge on how to decrease the lag time I am open to hearing about it.

Gear Change

I put 456's in my 04 automatic and have no problem with lag. I do have a problem with hitting the rev limiter BEFORE it shifts. No one has been able to provide a conclusion, including the tuner, except possible transmission slippage! With 456's and a magnacharger w/headers, it does get to the rev limiter real quick!!!!

I put 4.11's in my 04, punch it and hold on.

Hey Dick, I live near you. Who did your gear change? And are you happy with their work?
