What's the actual diameter of your tires? I'll plug it into the formula and see what your true gear ratio is. I'm assuming they're over 30" in dia. and that will be bad as the stock gearing is terrible with 29.3" tires!

Steel, those 4.56s should help, but they will only have the same effect as 4.10s with the stock tires. Still it will be an increase in ratio over the stock gearing. If you have an automatic, probably a looser converter would be the key to really waking that thing up!

As usual , your wealth of knowledge is so cool!
Now if I only knew what a looser converter meant!

The term "looser" in this context refers to a higher stall speed, which means under acceleration the converter will allow the engine to reach a higher rpm quicker enabling the vehicle to accelerate faster from a rest. Bang for the buck, a high stall converter is hard to beat for appreciable gains in performance.

The information you are seeking has been posted on this Forum many times. Do a search for rear gear ratios.
