HELP PLEASE - Superchip or Diablo..!

I have a Superchip in my 03 SSR currently but I think that it does not do anything with the torque management. I know the Diablo U7193 will change TM and allow you to go in and make your own adjustments. My Superchip 2815 does not have any menu saying anything about TM (Torque Management).

So, I'm asking if it would be good for me to sell the Superchip and get the Diablo U7193 because from what I have read it will allow me to change the TM were as the Superchip will not (and does not change it at all).

I also spoke to Superchip tech support (Nice guy) to add to my confusion.. They said that Torque Management did not come into play till 2008 and that anything prior to that ONLY had adjustments for shift firmness and shift point, nothing more. Also the ability to turn off traction control.

Input please....

Well I have used them but couldn't really say get this one or that one as mine just got tossed in a can in the garage, As far as the TM if you are not making a lot of hp changing it would have little to no difference in performance, I have mine turned all the way off, The big things would be your fuel trims, Fuel air, MAF and timing and the tranny settings, Shift points and so on, I know someone else will most likely say I don't know what I am talking about as they have been doing that on here lately but if you could find a good tuner with a laptop and HPTuner and do it the right way, I know this isn't a very good answer but I hate no one leaving something when I post, Good luck with what ever you go with

So if you turned off TM then you must have a Diablo, correct?

Diablo?

I bought my 03 redline red late 2003 and had a heck of a time finding a sport tuner that would work with the computer on the 03s'. there is something different about the 03 vs. the 04 and later. So, first be careful to ask if the tuner you are going to buy will work.I wound up using Comp cams tuner, which was the only one out there at the time that would work.
I was very dissapointed with the weak performance increase and felt I wasted $400.00.
Also, you are running headers and hi-flo cats which the box tune doesn't allow for. You can get a custom tune for about $600.00 and is a better way to go in my opinion.
Hope this helps.
Good luck.

Right now I have a Superchip but, not sure if switching to a Diablo would give me any more options. That's my real question, is it worth switching to the Diablo?

I think Double L has given you the best advice so far. Find a good tuner and tell him what you want. I have had a Diablo preditor and then had my computer tuned by Jeremy Formato BIG difference. I had him completely eliminate torque management and it can be a little hairy driving in the rain (I have 315/35/20's on the rear) Get in contact with Jeremy and see if he travels close to where you are or there are other people that are good too. Lyndon Westers is one that comes to mind. Check the search feature or maybe someone will chime in. Good luck

I have a 2006 SSR and have a Superchips installed. I am pleased with what it does. I would suggest you go the Super chips site and pose your questions to them and see what they can advise.

You may not have the most recent download and features for your box.

My Super Chips allows you to set the shift pressure.

Regards

Jerry
