i helped kellyo do his in his garage/woodwork shop, he did it over a couple weekends, you can do it in 1 weekend, you have to send the computer to magnuson to reprogram, that takes 7-10 days, the hardest part was getting the harmonic balancer bolt out.

Mine took two days in a home garage, by myself. One more day to modify the cold air induction tube and air box.A couple of things could have made it faster. The intake Air Temperature sensor would be easier to install before the supercharger is on the engine, and the intercooler rediator hoses should be installed before the radiator is in place. Had to drop mine back down.

Thanks rocketman...

I just want to be able to show them what first time backyard guys can install it in, if they want to charge way over the norm / average we come up with here.

I know Joe offered to do it for $750. Magnason say 8 1/2 to 10 hours for install.

Last I heard this shop is going way beyond that. I'm getting scared, I don't know how many crack dealers I will have to roll, to pay my bill and get my truck back.

I would have done the install myself but I have no dyno close to me for the tune. 4 hours Canadian side. and the one in Detroit was booked till end of June.

I installed my own in my 04 when I had it previous to the present 05 and it took 21.5 hours. I kept track due to some vendors estimates at $85 to $100/hour and approx 24 hours to 32 hours to install. It really wasn't hard........just follow the instructions. I sent the computer out to Magnacharger ahead of time and had it back before I started the install.

Rebel, Let us all know how much it ended up costing you. I would love to put one on my 2004 SSR. But, money is tight and my wife....well you know how wifes are.

Good luck and I hope you take down a lot of crack dealers.

So we have 21.5 hours
................17-20
................20-25
................2 days
................1 weekend

Looks like rookies can get it done in 20 hours on average so far.

I will wait and see what time this custom speed shop say they spent on it.....

Anyone else install one add your install time please.

I took my time, going step by step with the instruction book and completed
it over two weekends (approx. 30 hours) by myself. I shipped the computer to MagnaCharger right off the bat and had it back by the end of the install.

Scary to give them a blank check. I know it's different for custom work but to say $100 a hour for as many hours as it takes me sounds like a good way to pay twice what you should.

Mine was done by an LS engine expert in two days. Magnussen includes a tuner with their tune as part of the package. From what I've seen on the list, if you have a stock SSR, that tune is all that you need. However, if you've altered the exhaust, you'll need a custom dyno-tune (on your own) to get maximum horsepower. Ilsa's 5.3 + supercharger + custom dyno-tune ended up with 379 hp at the rear wheels which translates to around 500 at the crank.

Looks like they are treating me very well. They did some valve train work for me and installed the huffer for $2700. I am happy with that, as they had to buy some parts also. Plugs, wires, gaskets, some small stuff from Magnason. Then do some sodering on injectors as this is a 112HH LS2 TO LM4 convertion, and for some reason frame work for the intercooler rad, It will go to the dyno tomorrow we hope, and then it's play time this weekend.
Me happy now.

Achias ... yes a hand tuner for 03/04 but not with 05/06 this is a larger huffer for the ls2 and came without a hand held, so I feel better with a safe dyno tune. It has true dual exhaust and 1:85 rockers, 4:56 gear and Greg's servo installed. Headers and Greg's bulletproof tranny comes next year, and we can up the boost some then.

ChuckDuck ... Yes with me being a foreigner in there shop they could have screwed me badly.
Held my truck and charged 30/40 hours install time and then what could I do but pay and bitch. I did sign for 4 hours valve train time. But the huffer install was open as they have not installed this type before. Yes I was scared that’s why I asked how much time my backyard buddy’s spent doing their install.

But it is a good clean looking shop; the staff talks intelligently and is very friendly. I can see where it is going to grow bigger as time go’s on. … With the billing as is I really can’t say anything bad about them and wish them great success.
I will post there name if they want me to later. All worked out good for me after all.
