Question hesitation on acceleration after maggie install

When I give it gas after idleing, I have a slight hesitaion, almost a bog, then she goes. When the RPMs are already up, there is no problem. Is this normal for the magnacharger on my 05 SSR auto? I brought it to a race shop where I live to see if he could fix it, he said he couldn't reprogram the PCM, magnacharger has a custom tune on it he couldn't get into it to change it. but he could read it and it looked real good. It dyno'ed at 405 are the rear wheels. Is that good? I have a corsa exhaust and 2.9 pulley.

The slight hesitation problem you are experiencing could be the stock throttle body. I would need to look at the tune to be able to tell if the installation shop did anything to the tune when installed it.

Make sure that the traction control is disabled as that will be kicking in on a hard acceleration and will cause the symptoms you describe.

If the place you took it was able to read it then they would be able to modify the tune. All Magnuson tunes are unlocked! If the tune was locked then the shop would not have been able to read the tune.

Feel free to give me a call if you have any other questions.

Thanx joe for the reply, I called magnacharger and they said that the pcm was custom reprogrammed. The place I took my truck to was Vengance Racing. They specialize in Ls2 motors. They said they could read the tune, but not modify it. i am getting conflicting reports. What about the dyno results. What should I be getting? thanx!!!

The program is a custrom program for the MagnaCharger but it is unlocked so any tuner can adjust it and make changes. They may not know enough about the tune to modify it??? If it was locked they would not be able to read the program. If they were doing nothing more then scanning it and it is locked then you need to get ahold of the installer as he has it locked on you.

Each Dyno is different, if you dont have a before dyno sheet from the same dyno and operator then throwing a number out there wont do any good. Some dyno's have read a stock LS2 SSR in the high 200's and the high 300's to low 400's after the install. You need to look at a before and after dyno from the same dyno and operator. You should see between 100-120 RWHP gain from the MagnaCharger.

Turn off your traction control and see if it still hesitates.

ok, it wasn't "locked" he could read it, but he said in was a different operating system and that he could probably change it, but he said the tune already looked good...

Where do I get the new throttle body, I've seen a couple of them on ebay, ported and polished, but which one is right for me?

Dont get the ported and polished ones, too many troubles with idle. I sent a link to your e-mail of one on e-bay.

Guys: Note the degree of support that 2005SSR6speed is offering here to someone who bought from one of his competitors.

I'd say that is service WAY beyond what most Magnuson dealers would provide.

Best to remember that this kind of service, and this kind of NEED for service, can occur on any supercharger project, and keep that in mind when choosing your dealer.

Joe (2005SSR6speed) supports SSRs, this website, and US. That counts for a lot.

(Not about Magnas') but I want to agree strongly with your comments. My Mustang SC install was a nightmare. I went to a highly recommended installer and I got a Hack Job with poor drivability. AND NEVER deal with anyone based on price. The Dealer I used is LaRocca's in New Jersey. Treat them like the plague.
