I need used brake pads!

Anyone have the oem brake pads that you've taken off your SSR?
I need used ones to use as a proto-type for a custom pad that my local speed shop will use to design a "high performance" carbon pad, that won't leave brake dust! and will stop 10 times better, but we need the pads (front and back) to design off of.
Pm me!
Thanks!

You may just have to buy some new.

Don't count of finding any soon. I had service done 2 weeks ago. Reported wear on the pads was 80% remaining. That's with 55,000 miles over 3 years time.

thats going to be hard ticket with so few miles on most of these SSRS, but wondering what the rotor wear may be with that type of brake pad??

I replaced mine at 80,000 miles....but they still had ~%30 left.
The rotors had a small amount of wear.....I would guess about 1/16th-1/32nd of an inch, but I didn't measure it, just felt it.

The OEM stock units are Akebono #ACT882 (front) and #ACT883 (rear) which are used in Envoy and I think Trailblazer as well, might want to hang around a brake shop and ask if you can get some throw aways. These vehicles, on average, get many more miles than we place on ours.

Just a thought

Wow

From what your telling me the pads last a long time!
I'm having the pads made that won't squeek or throw off brake dust. They are a special carbon racing pad that motorcycles are using.
I just ordered New Brake Rotors for mine, and was going to change them then.
Check out this Brake Rotors and let me know what you guys think! They are the top of the line!

Performance Brake Rotors

With New Cooling Design & Diamonds Slots
FITS FOLLOWING APPLICATION: Chevy SSR 2003 – 2006

Cross-drilled and slotted rotors give the maximum braking for performance cars under all necessary braking conditions. Precision machined holes or slots on the rotors will allow hot gases from brake pad to escape quickly to prevent skidding or locking up. It also provides quicker response to improve faster stopping power and enhancing the look of your car. Cross drilled and slotted patterns are precisely CNC machined for perfect fit to OEM specs for use with stock calipers and stock wheels. No other modifications are needed.

Other Features

Black E-Coating: Applied to Hub and Inner vents; Electro-Statically Applied; Ensures even & Complete Coverage; Rust Protection
Casting: OE Specifications including OE vain design; Cast iron Material; Cast in ISO 9000 approved facilities
Mill Balancing: 100% inspected for balance; Prevents Vibration; Mill Balanced to within 150g/cm; Eliminates Possible Differences in weight
