Installing Aftermarket Gauges in Auxiliary Console Gauge Pod

The auxiliary gauge pod is sized for the 2 inch body diameter of the factory gauges, but most small "2 inch" aftermarket gauges (e.g., Auto Meter, Dakota Digital, etc.) have body diameters of 2- 1/16 inches. Before I trim the gauge housing to accommodate the widely available gauges, has anyone found or used 2 inch body diameter aftermarket gauges? I'm looking for voltage, outside temperature and transmision temperature gauges.

Thanks in advance.

Mine are DD and the fit with no trimming. The 2.0625" measurement is the O.D. of the bezel not the body. The body is 2.000"

Gauges

Maybe my aux. gauge housing was made to the inside limit of tolerances, although that's tough to believe. But I have a new 2 inch diameter Auto Meter voltage gauge that has a a body that measures 2.0625 inches with a digital caliper and it does not fit into the housing. It would not even "jam fit" and for sure would ruin the paint on the ID of the housing.

A few of the Dakota Digital gauges (Odyssey series) that I'm also looking at specify a 2 1/16 inch diameter body and 2 3/16 inch outside diameter of the bezel.

I'll figure it out...thanks for the input.

Hello Snomuncher:As Art has mentioned, the Odyssey ll series DD gauges should fit perfectly! If you read my post, you may have a struggle with the mounting bracket, had to revert to 2" velcrow double back tape to hold the pod in place, works fine no problems.Good luck,HalPS: you have to get rid of the circuit board, not needed with DD gauges! Take care>>

Gauges

There standard 2 1/16 " guages & fit in the standard aux console. These happen to be Amps, Air/Fuel Ratio & Outside Air Temp. All manafactures have a 2 1/16" guage which is an industry standard size .

I just received my gauge pod in the mail from one of our member.
I need to paint it first before I install it.
I tried a dry run to see how it looks and I see that I might have to cut back the carpet to get in place. I would like to do this job right. I would like to find a connector that mates up with the plug that already existed?
Does anyone have a copy of the installation sheet.

My next questions is what gauges would be the best to install,
I think outside temp. and volts would be good.
I have a automatic transmission in this car so I don't know if temp. for thats would be feasible.

Any help on this project would greatly appreciated.
