Will a K&N air filter work with my magnacharger that I'm getting installed this weekend? (05 Auqu Blur)

If you're talking about the K & N Aircharger cold air box, yes it will - I've got it set up on mine.

The problem is the offset with the throttle body. I have seen a few members remake the aluminum shield so the intake tube is then straight.

Question

Just bought the K&N 63 series air filter system for my '05. K&N claims a minimum of 13 HP increase. Is this correct or marketing hype????

James,

I installed mine when it was stock, and it SEEMED like it helped the get up & go. It certainly sounds cooler when you accelerate. But then again, you've got Mikey's pipes, so you probably can't hear the difference anyway

Doug:
AZ TPI will be installing this for me when I put your 410 gears in and do the custom tune. I expect it will be a different SSR when I get it back ! Have a great trip to New York.

You know, Joe's on line - he could probably get you a Magnacharger in time to get Jeff & Joe to install it.....

Please allow a dunce a couple of questions ?

1) Can I get the K&N filter without the cold air box. In other words, just the filter to replace my existing OEM filter? If so what should it cost ? Is it worth the trouble ?

2) Does installing the cold air box K&N filter system require extensive modifications that almost (I wouldn't dream ) anyone can handle? Your setup looks fantastic, Doug. What does this sytem normally cost?

3) Is the horsepower increase HYPE or should it be rationally expected ?

4) Is there a marked difference in the exhaust tone (have a Magnaflow muffler on now and many ask me about it, so I guess it sounds good) ?

I get lost some times reading through these performance threads, but just love it, anyway. I appreciate your "tolerance". Thank you.

If you just bought it, then yes it does increase it by 13 HP.
If you haven't bought it yet, then no it's just marketing hype....
