Lowering Springs?

Any advice out there about what's the best lowering springs to install on my '05 SSR and how much to lower? I see the Eibachs lower front 1" and back 1.6". Is that very noticeable or should I go lower?

There is quite a bit on lowering on the forums if you use the search feature.

Lowering Springs

I lowered the rear only on my 05 using the Eibachs, they gave me the level look I wanted. I did not notice anything negative in the drive.

Thanks for the info. Now I've got tons of stuff to read up on. I'm sure that will lead me on the right path.

You'll be happy with just the Eibachs springs otherwise, if you go lower, you'll run into issues like what NORCAL SS has addressed. Those issues can be corrected, but will cost more to deal with.

belltech adjustable drop struts by far are the best riding.

the stock ssr shocks with drop springs ride good at first but start to kill the shocks fast because the stock shocks in front were not made to be lowered on the shaft goes so far into the shock its out of its effective range.

keep stock springs and use the belltech drop struts and you will be set. done many like this no probs and much better ride than doing any aftermarket drop spring. In rear belltech drop spring with the belltech street performance shocks and your done.

Also you ca do rear djm 4 inch drop springs (will drop 3 inches on a ssr) and ride is very good but will require new rear shocks due to spring length and how much lower the truck sits.

Also in front there are kbee coilovers which people have used here and replaces the entire front strut completly.

you also have belltech double adjustable coilovers that replace the shock in front/spring but you just use stock top hat section which kbees you dont.

Just installed the Eibachs on my 06 front and rear. Great stance and a much better ride than stock. No clearance issues. Front end tech said the ball joints were still in proper alignment. And I got a GREAT deal from a fanatic right here!

Lowering Setup - Norcal

Norcal,

So, instead of the complete Eibach Lowering Springs setup, you are suggesting that one acceptable alternative would be to keep the stock SSR front springs in combo with the Belltech Adjustable Drop Struts to drop the front 1", then for the rear you can go with the Eibach springs to drop 1.6".
I got that right? I am working on a plan to lower my 05.
