MagnaCharger Belt Tensioner Upgrade

I have been testing a new Belt Tensioner as an upgrade for the MagnaCharged TBSS's that are pushing the limits and seeing belt slip. This new Belt Tensioner has almost twice the tension on the belt as the stock MagnaCharger Tensioner. It requires a support bracket be attached between the pivot bolt on the new Belt Tensioner and the head. I will provide the new Belt Tensioner and Support Bracket as a kit. Here are some pictures of it installed on my TBSS. I should have the first 5 for sale next week, I am waiting on some final pricing for buying in bulk.

This new tensioner is meant for belt slip issues from running more boost. The stock tensioner with the kits is a great tensioner for the mild boost levels.

VERY good idea, Joe.

Even with only 9 psi boost, my own SSR was slipping its serpentine belt due to the 4.56 gearing and hi-stall torque converter allowing quicker rpm change than stock or 4.10 gearing.

This sounds like a really good idea and hopefully an effective solution for those running the Magnachargers.

?By this do you mean to say that it is not required if we're in the 7-8 lbs boost range?
!I already have the support bracket installed!

You can still install it even if you dont have belt slip. This tensioner is alot stronger then the stock one with the kits.

The polish would be extra as I would have to take it to my polisher.

I just picked up a few from the polisher and they look great!! I really dont want to get into polishing these for customers because it cost right at $100 for the polish and a little chrome he did. I had a few extras polished for the members that asked up front. If you want a polished unit make sure to tell me as I polished the first batch of (4) I received and I have (3) polished I can send out on Monday with the others (3 polished are spoken for already). I painted the zinc coated center of the tensioner Black on mine because there is no way to take it apart for chrome.

I will start shipping these on Monday for members.

The cost is $145.00 plus shipping for the Tensioner and the Support Brackets. You have to use the brackets with the stronger tensioner. If you have the brackets already make sure to indicate that when ordering.

Polished is another $100.00 added to the price.

If you want to get an unpolished one and polish it yourself rather then pay for me to have it polished it is okay as they take a week to get through polish and I only have 3 done so far.

1) Chick (Polished)
2) Ross (Polished)
3) Doug Allen (Polished)
4) Mr.Merlin (Polished)
5) Hank Wolf (Polished)
6) QWKSSR (Un-Polished)
7)
8)
9)

I have the on-hand tensioners packaged up and will be having everyone contact me this afternoon for their shipping information.

I have another order coming in and will be taking some of those over for polish to cover all the polished orders.

I only have 3 polished Tensioners on-hand and will go from the top of the list down as that is how I was contacted by members.
