Hello my SSR friend from US and all over the world !
EXHAUST : I like the original exhaust system, but for me I miss the "V8 sound boom" you know !? Now I order a MAGNAFLOW System for my SSR and install this part last week ! WOW now it booms... ! Very nice System with very nice sound ! Fits good to all Original hangars ! Love it !
You want to change your System ? MAGNAFLOW is what you want !

Good report Tom! I have Mike in AZ Old School True Duals on mine and love the sound also. Sorta brings out the kid in me. My wife, Sandee, shudders everytime one of those little 4 cyl Jap cars goes by with the tin can muffler. Getting that old time V8 rumble out in the atmosphere has changed our lives. Thanks for posting your success.......Paul

My Wife called me this morning at work (after walking our dog in the backyard) saying that she could hear the rumble of my SSR pulling out of the neighborhood, some distance from our house! Gotta' Love Those Magnaflows!

Did anyone put the Magnaflow catback on themselves.
Did you use a lift or ramps? How long did it take to do it?
How hard was it getting the old system off? I have 3K miles on it and I don't really want to cut it up to remove it.

i watched while mine was done at the muffler shop..the original could have come out with a lot of extra work but i decided i was only going to keep the tips...so they cut the original system where it splits above the differental,,,( this is an 04 with the single outlet on the muffler ) the magnaflow went in very easily but did require a bit of heating to bend one hanger so the tips were centered,,,so i would say it's easier to let the muffler shop do it unless you have a well equiped work shop..
and hello to tom in austria from vancouver island,,british columbia, canada..

A friends brother did it.
Used lift.
Took about 90 minutes first time. 15 minutes to fix exhaust tips the second time.
Cut old system off.

Thanks for that information and glad you are having a great time with this Truck. Thats why they call us fanatics I guess. Tom, what kind of questions do you get from the locals about the SSR?
I put the same muffler on my SSR by removing the Y pipe to achieve the true dual set up. It sounds(sounded) incredible. But, I was getting some very irritating drone at crusing attitudes and just today added a couple of resonators just before the tips. Got rid of the drone alright, but it now sounds about stock again . Not sure what to do next, my muffler shop will think I am going .

You must get a lot of attention with such a strange and exotic ride. We get more than our share of comments, but tell us about the ones you get........Paul

I dont mind a little drone. I like it loud and it makes a statement. The only problem is it scares off would be racers????

I guess I was trying to eat my cake and have it. Maybe I should have just tried some resonator tips. The resonators I did get though are straight thru and I am surprised the quieted it down so much. Read too much.
My Rocket is still factory bone stock except for a Magnaflow 40..the sound makes me glad I spent the 2 bills for it..had to go back twice to get my tips straight tho..
I recently added the Magnaflow Cat-Back System to my SSR too. Not only does it look fantastic with those 5" stainless tips coming out the back but the sound is great - a real head turner when I drive by anyone. For anyone interested I bought mine on the internet from Performance Exhaust PLUS and authorized Magnaflow on-line reseller - www.performanceexhaustplus.com. They provided free shipping and quick delivery.

Well I took the SSR to the "Custom Exhaust" place the other day and he installed the Magnaflow muffler and tips to my existing system. I did not use the Magnaflow cat back system I have. The muffler he installed looks like the one that comes with the cat back system. When you look in the 3" inlet you can see right out the two 2.5" outlets. I wanted 5" tips installed without the baffles but he installed Magnaflow tips that are the same size as the factory tips (4") but without the baffles. I may have him change them for larger ones.
It sounds louder when you drive it. I have to get someone to drive it for me.
I want to hear it when it drives by and when it accelerates.
To Install the System is not very hard ! I do it by my self and take...I think 3 hours - so Iīm a PERFECTIONIST - so I work a little longer on the Exhaust TIPS to have the right look !
In Austria we have 5 or 6 SSRīs but I have the one and only in silver !!
I Like my SSR a great new HOTROD !!
In the next days I will but in the forum some Picīs of my AUSTRIAN SSR !

I think the 2005 Aqua Blur 6 speed that Stray Cat traded in for a Viper was sold and shipped to someone in Austria.
I sold my 2001 Plymouth Prowler to a man from The Netherlands. It is in a container crossing the Atlantic right now.
He wants to buy an SSR next year.
