Motive Gears 4.30 / Noisy?

I'm going to pull the trigger on gear change before the next tech session - so I can do the gears followed by the tune (and servo too)

I'm strongly considering going with the Motive Gear 4.30s - seems to be the "optimum" performance for an auto. Right in between the 4.10 and 4.56 with performance/economy.

This morning premium gas $3.59 here -

But Doug commented that he had heard that Motive Gears might be noisy? Anyone know for sure? or just turn up the tunes...

Or should I drop back to the 4.10s and call it good enough?

TIA

Regardless of gas price ... just drop back to the 4.10s and call it good enough?

I put 4.56 Motive gears in the 2003 with about 30,000 miles on the clock. Truck currently has 62,000 miles and still very quiet. Installed by J & S Gear Huntington Beach.....for the record. They told me they were a good set and good quality when they installed them. Italian made gears..... average mpg was 16. Even with a heavy right foot.

35k on my Motive 4.56 set and just barely starting to notice a whisper under float conditions. Going to check the backlash and might have to tighten it up a tad.

Noisy gears are usually the result of an installer who doesn't know how to set them up. A competent installer can make any front line brand as quiet as stock.

What make are the gears. Assuming they are american axle, I'm sure there's a fanatic or two that would take them off your hands.
