Ran the 1/8 at QualComm and did 2 back to back 8.3's spinning the whole way down the lane. The best 60 ft were the last 2 that were in the 2.03's and the MPH was consistantly in the 82-83.79! Not bad on street tires, spinning the tires and feathering the gas the whole time. It is just a parking lot strip that wasnt preped very good but it was still fun!!!
I ran a total of 6 times and had the best times at 28 PSI of tire pressure.
The videos are not that good but the camera is old.

Greg Ducato - Thanks! The transmission is doing great too.

We have a guy here out of Dallas who is shooting for mid 11's on the motor. We are building him a special 3600-3800 high stall billet converter. He is running our trans and 3200 stall right now with 1.84 his best 60ft time and a string of 8.20's his 1/8th mile times. You TBSS guys are nuts, but I mean that will all due compliment!!

I need to get my drag Radials in and then the way it sets right now it should post a mid 7 second 1/8th. I will be pulling it back apart for the Heads, Cam and New Blower next month. We are shooting for 650-750 RWHP and I hope to put it in the 10's for the 1/4 mile. If that doesnt do it then a healthy shot of Nitrous on top of everything should have me there.

I think you may want to start saving for your next trans Joe, If you ever get 750RWHP to hook up that poor old 4L70E will expire, but it should make for a hell of an oil and smoke show.I have had a few requests to study the feasability of a 4L80E conversion and I am looking into it. Is yours 2 wheel or All Wheel drive? Do you know any computer gurus who could help with a harness integration?

I would deffinatley be up for a bigger and better transmission down the road. My TBSS is 2 WD so it is not as hard on the transmission as the AWD version. The '07 has all the tables for the new 6L80 6 Speed Auto. Will that handle the power?

The last 2 Stangs I raced were on Nitrous and Drag Radials. The closet one to me ran an 8.5 and 8.7 to my 8.3's.

From what I have seen so far I don't think the 6L80E will be nearly as stout as a 4L80E but it is lighter. I am also looking into converting the 4L80E into a six speed. That would be kind of cool no?
Way to go Joe. Keep those mustangs scratchin' their heads...
And by the way.... can I drive?
Come on out sweetheart and I will let you drive.
The best part was that I was spinning the whole way and still beat them. I raced a total of 4 Mustangs that night out of 6 races, the first 2 were against a Turbo Talon and Honda S2000 (Both were almost 2 seconds behind me). The last guy I beat came over and looked under the hood when we were in the pits and said, "So That's why you won"! My friend that was with me went off on him explaining that they are over 1500 pounds lighter, on Drag Radials and Spray. The guy went off pouting like a little kid.

That would be great to play with in this vehicle to see if we can keep it together.
The 4L80 is a great transmission already. If you can put the same solenoids inside it as the 4L70 and the same harness connections I am sure I can tune it in.

It felt great to run it. I need to get it all dialed in with Drag Radials and a good track.

It should run pretty good when you get it dialed in, Sure is a good looking truck, It felt like I was going to cook it was so hot here, How was the heat your way, Heat and blowers don't make for fast times, All I could think of was getting my helmet off and getting out of that jacket, Here is a poor looking sight a cooked Double-L, Take care and like I said that is one sweet truck

The temps have been real nice here it is just the tracks are all in the desert areas so the temps there take a long time to cool down.
Sure wish you were closer so we could run them all the time. I have a few friends out here that are getting their trucks finished then it should be pretty regular. The best time to go is the winter around here because the temps get so bad at the tracks.

I am going to bring the little Saturn Sky up Saturday morning. I just finished installing the Autometer Wide Band AFR Gauge and need to do a few more things over the weekend to the SS.

Now that sounds like fun, If I wasn't so mature I would try and get out that way one winter, I wouldn't know what it was like to race all year round, Can't wait to get the SSR back on the track and see if I can get any traction with it, Take Care
2005SSR6speed: I have myself been thinking abiut the wideband AFR from Auto Meter (I have an unused hole in my dashtop custom auxiliary instrument pod ready for it or an exhaust temperature gauge).
How good is that Auto Meter AFR sensor and gauge setup?
Do you prefer that over an exhaust temperature gauge?
One of the consideration for me is that the Nexus instrument bus I am running can be set to turn the entire individual gauge "red" when its reading steps out of the custom programmed acceptable range. With the exhaust temperature gauge, it is easy: if the temp goes above a certain point you are comfotable with, the gauge turns red and you back off the throttle pedal. With the AFR, it is more compliucated, since the "acceptable" AFR varies by throttle setting and situation. i.e. you cannot simply say if it goes more lean than say 12.0, turn red.
The AFR Gauge is very nice and should be considered with any forced induction setup. The reading can range from 14.7 at idle to not more then 12-12.5 under full throttle boost in 3rd gear at redline. It is best to use it as a tuning tool. The best place to be under WOT Boost is between 11.4-11.8 for safety, it will spike to 12-12.5 at redline right before the shift. It will run richer in the lower gears so try to set your fueling in 3rd gear WOT to redline (if you have the space).

this sounds like something I cannot monitor with my HP tuner.
am I missing it somewhere?
You need to get the Autometer Wide Band AFR Gauge to monitor it.
This is what I did in the TrailBlazer SS. I have since hooked it up to my HpTuner EIO interface for real time logging of the gauge.
I finished the installation of the Wide Band AFR Gauges. I am real pleased with the way it turned out. I got rid of the rear wiper control and mounted the AFR Gauge there. I had to dremel out the opening and clearance the dash so the gauge would go in correctly.
The Wide Band AFR Gauge has a 0-4 Volt Output for scanning too. I need to set it up for HP Tuner EIO and make sure everything works fine during the scans.
