NEEDED: Panhard/Track Bar in Florida

ATTN FLORIDA MEMBERS

BMR FABRICATION IN THONOTOSASSA, FL needs an OEM Track Bar/Panhard Rod for Suspension product development. They just want to take measurements. It would be most helpful if 1 auto & 1 manual trans could help out. 10 bolt vs. 14 bolt rear end housing may have different bars?

Check out the SSR goods at www.bmrfabrication.com and contact Jason for details.

BMR already makes upper and lower control arms & I asked them to make a complimentary piece known as the track bar or panhard bar. This is the 5th link in your rear suspension. It runs cross-wise from the frame to the differential housing & keeps the rear end centered.

You've got the sway bars or are thinking about them? Is your truck lowered? Finish that suspension off with Adjustable Control Arms and an adjustable track bar!

These adjustable control arms are great for those of you that have lowered your truck. It keeps the driveshaft pinion angle correct.

Hey Mike - Thonotosassa is 5 miles from us. I'll let Lonnie know about this, or you can PM him in case I forget before I get home. We've got an auto and a manual, maybe they can get everything they need.

Thanks.... I really didn't want to ship Hanks (Wilddesertwolf) and my bars there.... You are doing us all a great service.

Glad to help, but vettegirl stepped up while I was typing. They are a lot closer and will be a better choice. I deleted my post after you saw it.

Regards,

Mike

Thanks! Typing at the same time looks confusing when it posts, but I got a good laugh out of it! With 2 manufacturers making anti-sway bars and 1 making control arms, I just thought the next logical piece would be the track bar.

Lonnie, thanks for being "volunteered"

Are the auto(10 bolt) and the stick(14bolt) track bars different? When i replaced my 10 bolt with the 14 bolt the track bar bolted/lined up with no change in rear end location. - MauiMike - when they do the track bar see if they can locate the bar rearward of the gear cover, This would allow the use of the aftermarket cover on the rearend. Thanks. Ross

I am not sure whether or not there is a difference? This is why I asked for both to be measured. As for moving it outward, wouldn't that require moving the brackets?

Slight Mod

Ross is right. Our rear assembly is from the Trailblazer/Envoy and they had to keep the trackbar as close to the diff cover as possible, to make room for the spare tire on them. I am guessing that this is the reason it is flattened tubing and not round. The track bar is VERY close to the diff cover and has been a limiting factor in getting someone to make a diff cover casting. A 3/4" dogleg around the cover would do nicely. I have a manufacturer in CA that was considering making a cover for us, but the distance to the trackbar limits the amount of fluid and size of fins too much.

Regards,

Mike

Update: We took the panhard bar and they're going to make one for the automatic from those measurements, next week they will call for me to take the 6-speed up there so they can make the offset. Also took up the stock swaybars, they already make adjustable control arms. Nice shop, VERY organized. For those of you who went on the Power Tour, the guy who owns the shop was driving this truck:
