Smile New "drone Free" Mufflers?

Just ran across a new possibility for those wanting a performance exhaust system/sound without the dreaded 1500-1800 rpm drone. Corsa is now marketing individual mufflers called their "DB Series" where you do not have to buy the whole catback exhaust system but can just get individual mufflers. A true dual exhaust system with two mufflers would be possible. Here is a link to their website for this product:

Didn't find any pix these mufflers....am space limited if I changed. The drone does wear on you.....radio doesn't even hide it. Good info.

Peace

The specs on their chart list 2.25 or 2.5" sizes only. Stock inlet is 3" on the 05 and 06. Not sure about 03 and 04. So, unless you're going true dual this muffler would restrict flow.

They did have a chart which gave some dimensions on the mufflers, but you are right about no pictures. I am wondering if it would be possible to turn mufflers with the 10" dimension vertical side x side like someone else did on their SSR. I can't remember who did that, but they had pictures of their install and it looked like this might work.

That is true. I have emailed Corsas technical department to see if they might possibly be offering them in a 3" inlet/outlet configuration. Will let everyone know what I find out.

as10trk....funny you mention that.....that is why I asked the question.....I have the vertically oriented Dynamax racing mufflers on Penelope. They need to have 3" inlets too.

Exhaust Sounds

Aftermarket mufflers and drones can be tough and expensive to eliminate, I spent a lot on my older 350. if you just want a little louder sound/tone on the 05 and 06 OEM system put on 5 inch tips, sounds good, a little louder and very inexpensive, i was surprised.
The perforated inner wall must have something to do with the OEMs 4 inchers helping to keep the noise level down.
