Tune will help.

Change the gears to 4.10 or 4.56 - it will feel like more HP.

A good tune will pick up 30 hp easy on the LS2. Before you do it do a ported and polished throttle body and catback exhaust. Then have it tuned and you should pick up 40+hp.

The LS2 really responds to a cam change. Even a rocker change to 1.8 would help some if you didn't want to do the cam swap. Better valve springs, retainers, and pushrods need to be added for either change. Then you can bump the rev limiter up from 6300 to around 6600 or 6800. These little motors love to REV! A simple reroute of the PCV line will clean up some of the oil that gets pulled into the intake manifold. That will aid performance along with eliminating some oil consumption. Cleaning up the air intake also helps, whether it's a K&N unit or something you fab up. Good Luck!

Change the tires so you can really enjoy what you have already, better. And then everything else...

I'll list approximate costs for various mods here for you (depending on where you live).....

Tune $ 250.00 - $ 350.00
Gear Swap - $ 600.00 - $ 900.00 Installed
Cam Swap, including new springs, $ 1,500.00 Installed
Catback aftermarket exhaust (non stainless) $ 1,000.00 Installed
Headers, Jet Hot Coated, $ 2,000.00 Installed
K & N Cold Air Intake - $ 350.00

If you have the cam, headers and exhaust installed at the same time, deduct $ 250.00 - $ 400.00. If you do the installs yourself, obviously all of the above $$$ estimates can be reduced substantially.

If you have a bone stock LS2, changing to a 90mm throttle body won't help you. Porting and polishing the throttle body on a stock LS2 will not cost you much, and may gain a few HP.

My $ .02 based on experience. Hope this helps you.

Might be able to get a tune from 2005SSR6Speed (Joe) and then I can load it and we can go from there.

What to you think Joe?

An intake and CUSTOM tune will get at lease 30 HP on an LS2.

The least expence for starters would be muffler, open up airbox and use a stock k+n filterand look for a preditor tuner new or used I don`t think you want to tear into a brand new truck with low miles on it have some fun first you will appreciate the little changes with out braking the bank

When you say "open up the airbox... Are you talking about just dropping in a K&N filter...Or, did you cut away some of the air box itself?

I may just start a topic about this one...LOL
