I sent the throttle body for my 2004 off to Brian Sailor to be ported and polished. When I got it back I was really supprised. It looks so good and I have noticed that the throttle response is much more sensitive. It seems quicker but that's probably my imagination. It's such a pleasure to work with members of this forum.
It's such a wealth of information and if you need install support it's there
Thanks Brian and Bill
Hiya Neal, I did your throttle body. Glad to see you like it. I do have some cores on the shelf if you run into anyone that would like one. Did you ever get a picture of it?

I forgot about that....and just had my cover painted
I've got the LS2/LS7 TBs, I have 6 cores. I do not have any completely polished inside and out like shown with the polished Maggie above at the present (I can have one of my cores ported and polished on the inside and out in a couple of weeks). I do have several ported and polished inside only. Ported and polished only I can ship pretty quick, like today. I'd have to charge for the core though. I'm not an expert on the conversion from the 5.3 TB to the LS2 unit but I have two cores of the 5.3 TB too. I can open up the outer bowl of the 5.3 pretty good. wrprice@verizon.net if you want more information. Way I like to work it is you send me a core charge and when you replace the unit with a working TB I will refund it. That way you can hold on to your core a couple of days after installing the new unit just to make sure everything works fine and you won't have any down time. My core charge would only be what I can get them for which is the same as the ebay deal. Sometimes you can get them cheaper but that is hit or miss. Instead of going to all that trouble, paypal, and shipping expense I'll sell you the core for that same amount, $225. Either way, I will work with you.
+1 On the LS1's that is a fact. I don't do epoxy, I don't knife edge the blades and I don't do the blade mod. I don't remove the blade when I grind the metal. I personally believe that is a reason I have had very few (only one) problem and that turned out to be the guy's tune. I just cannot bring myself to reduce the strength of the blade components or introduce anything that might get sucked into an engine. I try to make it up with a higher quality pot and polish. For the same reason I am reluctant to dig into the electronics of the TBs. First GM set up a lot of ambushes and things not intuitive. Second there is a high failure rate for those that have monkied around inside. For those reasons I do the throttle stop mod on the LS1s but that is about all. I am sure you could do it on the LS6 DBW too
