Porting and polishing throttle body

I got my tb p&p now when I start it up it revs up all the way then wines down and when I get to a stop sign or red light it shoots to 2000 rpms. I was told it will go away after a week and because my computer will learn the new tb. Is there anyway I can reset it now or do I have to wait?

Pull the ECM fuse for 10 minutes or so, and that will clear the adaptive memory.

Under hood fuse box. For my 05 it's fuse #27 - not sure for your 04 but there's a diagram inside the fuse box cover.

I pulled both fuses and let it sit about 15 minutes same thing it still revs high on crank and it settles back down to 500 rpms , do u think in a week that my computer will learn this and correct itself like on my friends truck?

I would unplug the wire connection to the TB and re-install it carefully and make sure it's pushed on completely and the snaplock is secure. It's kind of touchy and if not on right will act up. Did you get a constant check engine light also?

My experience has been that the adaptive memory learns fairly rapidly. If after a couple hours of driving your problem doesn't resolve itself, I don't think it will without help. You'll probably have to schedule some tuning somewhere. Your ECM is limited in the range of self corrections it can make.
