By saying you're waiting for Mike's rear end cover, I assume you've got an automatic? (Mike just doesn't give us six speed owners as much attention as AUTOMATIC owners..... )

I'm thinking about swapping my 4.10's for a set of 4.56's soon - anybody out there want a deal on a set of American Axle 4.10's with about 1500 miles on them? I just had them installed before the Laughlin Run in January.

Doug:
I'm contemplating the 411s now for my 6 speed. Out of curiosity, why are you moving up to the 456's ?
Thanks in advance. James

I got the 4:56 thinking I could change to the 4:10 if it was too crazy. Corvette we surprised Saturday convinced me I got the right gears!

My dawg Rocket is tired of seat surfing with acceleration G-forces and trying to stay upright and out of the dash if I let off.

They just seem a little doggy (hey, I'm a contractor, not an engineer, so I don't know the technical term) at takeoff in my '06 with the supercharger. It seems to take too long to wind up the RPM's before the S/C kicks you back in the seat. My wife (Thumper) has 4.10's in her stock '05 and it runs great - I guess I'm just looking for a little more bang for the buck.

Right about now I should note that Jim G. told me so.....

I did the opposite. Nothing wrong with the 4.10's, they are a drastic improvement on the stock 3.73's.

I also got the fan and air dam from Mike - GREAT IMPROVEMENT - I am contemplating new gearing but after seeing Doug Allen's post am waiting to see his recommendations. Are you confident with AZ TPI to do the gear change? I am looking at all options and would appreciatiate your feedback. By the way, I also live in Scottsdale - Troon area - where are you located? Thanks, James

Those guys at TPI can do just about anything that on wheels. Give them a call or stop by for a chat and tell them I sent you.

I use a company called "The Gear Shop" in Phoenix for all my company and personal manual transmission & gear work. They have installed 4.10's in both Thumper's and my SSR's. AZ TPI is doing the speedo calibration next Friday.
