It's a little tight to install but I did it in the garage in an hour or two. Jack up the truck, depress the outer cover, remove outer snap ring, remove outer cover, remove a few internal parts, reinstall internal parts, replace cover and snap ring. It's really pretty easy, the only hard part I had was getting the snap ring off and back on due to the tight area between the trans and floor area.

Ok, thanks. I want it to shift hard when I get in it, not firm. Firm is fine for normal driving which is about what I have now with the programmer I installed last week. Not sure this servo is going to give me what I'm looking for.
I just finished installing mine last Saturday. If you follow the instructions from Greg it is not too bad and definitely worth the time and money. The hardest part for me was cutting the original blue oring and pulling it out like the instructions explain to remove the original servo. How Greg ever came up with this idea to replace it is a wonder, but that is what makes this site so valueable for everyone. You won't be dissappointed.

Greg's a pro, with years on experience. So he knows the differences, their strengths/weaknesses, and most importantly, why. He has the knowledge to pick the right parts, and can put together a bullet proof trans for any horsepower you build. A lot of guys can build a stronger trans with a special parts catalog, but most can't, or won't, tell you when your setup is strong enough.

Do you have to drop the tail of the tranny down in order to do this or can it be done with everything in place.? I have the exhaust out so, there more room now to get in there. Not sure there is enough room between the tranny and the SSR floor to get the servo assy out.
There isn't much room between the servo cover and the floor but having the exhaust out will help a little. Even with the back of the trans lowered the servo has to come out a section at a time, but it is a pretty simple procedure.
