SSR Driveshaft replacement

Hey everyone....new member for life....

I read a thread about an aftermarket driveshaft that showed promising results for solving the driveshaft issues that have tormented us all...

I was wondering on the end results and when they will be available for sale?

If they are I want one.......

Look forward to meeting you all in the future.....

Alan

Welcome Quick R! Back in 06 Dennis Reinhart, of Reinhart Automotive in FL, ordered a batch of metal matrix shafts from Dynotech here in MI. I believe he sold that original batch out and I don't know if he had another batch made. I gave Dynotech the dimensions for the 6 speed shaft, and had them build me one. It's been noise free and, in looking at it the other day, remains in perfect condition after 5 yrs. You might try Reinhart first, and if they don't have any in stock order instead direct from Dynotech. Jim Villipondo is the contact there, and their # is 248 362 2777. Good Luck!

I had one made localy for mine, after the original got bent and don't ask how. Let's just say driveshafts and crossmembers don't like each other.

Dynotech made me a 4inch aluminum driveshaft with spicer u joints for my 2005 R last year. No more tink. I called them at 1 -800-633-5559. Their web site is dynotechengineering.com. They already had the specs for the 05 automatic in their records. Very easy. Took about two weeks. Works perfectly. Well satisfied.

the guy I use for tuning my computer said that all you need to do is lube the forward splines and that should get rid of the infamous tink. We'll see, I'm gonna visit him in June and while we have the drive shaft unhooked for a gear swap he's gonna lube those splines.

Reinhart Driveshaft

I have this on my SSR - after the dealer replaced 4 driveshafts on my R in abut 6 months they agreed to buy the Reinhart shaft because of the info on this website. They were totally surprised as it was so much cheaper than the GM shaft they had been buying. Now 6 months later - no problem.

I am really happy with the new drive shaft.

Hope this helps - Kiwi

It was shipped to my home via Fedex. I ordered it directly from dynotech. I did not purchase it through Dennis Reinhart. Long trip from KY to Florida. Took about 20 minutes to install.

I went with a carbonfiber shaft 5 years ago. Works great no problems.
They are in Clearwater Fl. Precision Shaft Technologies, Carbon Fiber Driveshafts and Racing Shafts

Ok so do any of you still have your "old" drive shaft laying around. I would like to buy one for a different application. It has to be from a 6-speed SSR.

Thanks!

Thumbs up

Just purchased and installed a new driveshaft from Dynotech Engineering.

Extremely satisfied from start to finish. It took them no time to make it and a little over a week after ordering it, it arrived. It's now on the truck and is working great. Nice and quiet.

Highly recommended.
