ssr performance/sympathy

Hey Ya'll
today I went out to start BabyBlu up, and she wouldn't... then I thought I was locked in for freshness.. the doors wouldn't open for a minute... YIKES.. anyone else had this happen? I bought the vehicle in November 2006.. am bummed. The dealer is going to tow it, and I'm asking for a new battery.. can you think of anything else?

thanx you fanatics!

OUCH, BabyBlue . . .

Sounds BAD but I bet the dealer will find the problem and this will be only a memory very soon.

By the way, if the battery is dead push the dealer to determine why it died. Usually, relatively new batteries don't croak without a good reason nowadays.

Good Luck,

Curt

Don't worry....direct battery drains are usually a short (Ignition or PCM) and the Dealer should be able to diagnose in a matter of minutes...I'll bet you'll be fixed up in no time....

Watch them when they tow it so that they don't damage it.

The battery in my red '06 would go dead if it sat for as little as 5 or 6 days. I know it sat on the lot for several months before I bought it and no telling how many times the battery was charged just enough to start it. That was tough on the oem battery. Replaced it with an Optima Red top and no more dead battery.

If it did get towed, check out the pictures in my gallery to see if any damage was down to your vehicle like happened to mine.

Well now that it was jumped, make sure that your radiator fan is working correctly. Jumping incorrectly can affect it.

I'll be at 100,000 shortly and there are another half dozen in the 70k-80k range...so it's looking good.

I tried to find a thread where some of the "engineers" wrote up something on how to test it, but couldn't find one just yet....so here's what I'd do:

1) Start your truck.
2) Wait until the temp warms up to 210.
3) Open the hood and see if the fan is running. If it isn't, then there may be a problem.

I get no noises like you've described.
