Traction bars

All I've heard about are Hodgkiss or Addco sway bars. One is solid and the other is hollow tube design. I was told to go with the Hodgkiss as they are stronger and have all the parts needed to install.

I don't know if there are any Traction Bars available for these trucks but I have seen upper and lower adjustable control arms that would allow you to adjust pinion angle for maximum traction. I think there may be a couple of folks on this site that have used them but I don't have any experience with them in this application. I suppose you could add ladder bars as another option.

The stock suspension looks pretty good. I'm really looking to get a better bite.
Ladders are what I was considering. It looks like they could fit in place of the bar that goes forward from the coil to the frame. This will also help keep the diff. in line w/ drive shaft (so I won't bang u-joints). Was that what you meant by pinion angle? This is my 1st veh.w/coil rear end.
Still have a lot of numbers to squash before I start my build. Including these-$$$$. Trying to get all my ducks in a row.

Here's the link:

BMR Fabrication Inc.

I've got these on the Rocket, the adjustable lowers really make a difference in bite and ride.

Thanks Doug, I think the adjustable lowers should work very well.
Killed 2 birds w/ one stone. I believe the driveshaft will do nicely also.
What kind of rwhp are you running? (roughly)

500+. FYI, If you install the BMR bars, you need to put zerk extensions on them so you don't have to take them off to grease them.

Hey Doug,
Gonna hijack my own thread for a minute.
Do you have the drive shaft safety loops on yours. The BMR site has some but doesn't specify SSR (unless I overlooked it).

Well without good tires and they make none in 20'' you will always have traction problems, Coming off the line isn't the problem you can just come off like you are up town taking off from a red light but once you are at WOT and it shifts into 2nd. it is just going to blow the tires off and when it shifts to 3rd. same thing just spins the tires and make the truck very unsafe, GM and there 20'' wheels on a hot rod ???

Duly noted.
My is a 6spd. I would not run stock tires after my build. They are under-rated.
