I looked into this for my 05 auto and there isn't anything like the B&M Transpac. This tranny is computer controlled. But if you talk to Greg at Phoenix Transmissions you'll be able to find out everything there is to know. Lotsa threads on this subject. Use the search and PM Greg.
My SSR: 06 slingshot, with chrome package, last production.
I would check with member Greg Ducato as I think he is the trans expert. I bought the Vette servo from him and if I need any thing else I will go thru him.

I`ll agree with that. Greg sent me his 3000 stall converter and the servo and as far as I`m concerned, it`s the best money I`ve spent and the best service......Paul

Thanks Paul, I am also considering the 3000 stall converter. Have you had it installed and do you like the change? Mike

paul... the convertor and servo are good but....Just my .02 worth... get the aux tranny cooler from Mike in AZ,,....after replacing my tranny already due to heat..I suggest get the cooler for added protection....again my opinion only
My SSR: 04 UV, BOD 2-18-04, SN 5550, lots of polished billet, Superchips, K&N - Previous 03 and 05 owner

If you just want to change the shift firmness and/or RPM shift points you can just buy a Diablo or Superchips tuner or get a custom tune too. I have the Superchips on mine and enjoy the different tune options as well as having the capability to log various data points and save it to my laptop.

Yes ! The change is quite dramatic. If you drive it easy, it shifts easy, but when you get rowdy things get exciting in a hurry.

Good advice Blue, I was considering a cooler anyway. Who else to get the right one from, but Mike. Looks like I`m into the R for the duration, so anything that makes it last longer is a good invesment......Paul
Finally got the Transkit and Corvette servo installed. Not the kind of difference I was hoping for. I'm going to use the Diablo tune and then I should be happy. If not, I'm going to install 4:10's. usa1ssr

Can you tell us anything about this Transkit. Is it the TRANSGO Kit for 4L60E? What's in the Kit and does the valve body get modified?
I love the 4:10 gears. Makes the automobile much more perky whenever it's under 120MPH.
I had Greg at Phoenix's Trans Corvette servo and his 2800-3000 convertor in for several months and was liking the change; but with the gears and a tune, it all came together as a perfect combination of not so subtle changes that together, make "the whole greater than the sum of the parts".
The Transgo 4l60-hd2 is apparently made of aftermarket, more heavy duty components. I was told several times that reprogramming the chip would have more of an effect but I wanted to make sure I had the best available parts just to cover myself. The Corvette servo made the bigger difference. USA1SSR
If you have the complete TransGo 4L60EHD2 kit installed I would caution you against adding any additional line pressure into the trans via tune or aftermarket controller. This kit will raise line pressure signifigantly over stock and adding any more electronically may cause transmission damage. We have seen a rash of pump failures due to this very practice. If you want even more pressure than the TransGo kit will provide then don't ever go beyond 10 percent greater at wide open throttle or trans longevity will be affected.
Will I feel harder/quicker shifts once I put some miles on my SSR? I bought it with 931 actual miles and have put another 1000 miles on it since. USA1SSR
Depending on the modifications made to your trans when the TransGo kit was installed you should have a nice clean shift at all rpms with a definate tire chirp on wide open 1-2 shifts. This is actually quite normal also for a stock trans with only the addition of a Corvette servo. If you do not have these kinds of shifts then somthing is not right. Either the kit you had installed was not the 4L60EHD2 or they chose the mildest settings for it or did not change some critical components. One other factor to condider is that your torque management may be pulling out too much power during shifts. The aftermarket tuners can help in this regard and will give a firmer shift by scaling back torque management.
Thanks for the info. I'll check with the shop that did the transkit. I am sure it was the Transgo 4l60e-HD2. I haven't ever had a tire chirp. Shifts from 1st to 2nd take at least two seconds and are really, really soft. 2nd to 3rd is a much faster shift. It is the same with or without the traction control on. I'll change the torque management with the Diablo tuner. USA1SSR
