My SSR: goodies by mike in az, lyndon wester, greg ducato, & sinister.
i have the diablo, i know that you can change the parameters in the tune, i didnt i don't know enough to do that, you would have to run it on a dyno and use that as a starting point, but you better know what your doing, or its gonna hurt!! $$$$.

does it have the ability to disable / change the torque management like it states on their web site. I want to disable or at least turn it down to 30%..

I don't think that the 03s' have torque management,at leat i don't remember anything like that when I bought my Comp cams tuner(which I still have and can't use).I had a custom tune done when I finished my performance mods. and can't use a sport tuner anymore.Again, the 03 computer is different that the 04 and later.
If you are interested, I'll sell you my tuner at a real reasonable price.

That would clear up things for me if I could fine out definitely that the 03's don't have TM..

All automatics (in the SSR's) have torque management. Yes, I have two Diablo-Sport programers. The first U7193 I purchased in 2004 from Summit Racing for 370.00 and it has pretty extensive capabilities: Various "canned" tunes, individual adjustments for cooling fan temps, rear axle ratios, transmission shifting options, torque management, rev limiter, speed limiter, DTC's, etc.
The second U7193 I purchased in 2009 from Summit Racing for 370.00. All it did was a single "canned" 91 octane tune - that's it. NO individual options at all. You either loaded in the "canned" tune - or you didn't. Lest you think the unit was defective, the manual with it was all of 6 pages and confirmed that this was all there was. The manual with the first unit was quite extensive.
I called Diablo-Sport, got nowhere. I looked online, got nowhere. I joined the Diablo-Sport forum, started a couple of threads about it - got no answers.
Soooooooooo, does the U7193 modify torque management like they say? MAYBE!
A word on torque management. If I wanted the fastest, easiest method for allowing my drivetrain to self-destruct, I would modify the torque management parameters in the PCM. If you do it - BE CAREFUL!

Yes i have installed the tune from diablo and it changes the transmission shifting. Gain about 30 horsepower.
Out of ignorance, I have to ask a question. If these tuners provide additional H.P. as well as other performance improvements, why didn't the factory incorporate same in all vehicles? It seems to me any type of improvement gained simply by tuning would be cost effective and enhance marketability.
Manufacturers have to make a million little compromises to target the maximum potential buyers. Balancing power/mileage/pollution/reliability/noise/driveability, and the laws in 50 states, is a nightmare.

I have a feeling there is something going on at Diablo with regards to taking some options out of the programmer. Been talking to tech support there and here is one response that I got. Leads me to think they are removing some options out of the new programmer and not telling you about it.
By the way, my Diablo is not updateable via the Internet, it must be sent in. Not sure when they started the Internet update type.
Tech support answer after I asked if the Predator GM-2004 (which is prior to naming it U7193 I think) I have is safe and good to use on my 2003.
The P code is mandatory for 03 models only and will also work for 04 models. So if your 8th digit is a P. then you are in good shape. You should be able to use the tool as-is, but I would highly recommend doing a hardware upgrade as the tool is better and safer than what you currently have.

The SSR,S came from the factory with a built in stall or hesitation on take off.I have an 05 red automatic and I put in the Diablo Predator Sport tune.It did eliminate the stall and seems like quicker shift points.I am pleased. It is a DIY(do it yourself)Remove a couple of fuses, punch in the tune, replace fuses, you are done (about 20 minutes).
