we have a nitrogen station here at work and even with my discount I won't put nitrogen in my tires, let me tell you why.
it won't do any damage but it's a waist of money. with air in the tires at normal driving your tire pressure will only change 3-5 psi as they heat and cool, were nitrogen really comes into play would be tires that get very hot such a race cars or were tires change altitude such a airplanes
I guess if you had to drive up and down mountains every day then you might see some benefits, like I said it won't hurt if you want to do it but I don't think it's cost effective

What a dumbass response, the question was about Nitrous not Nitrogen. Look in the mirror, what you see I`m sure is BUTT UGLY!!!!

Slicks: I'm running nitrous in my 04. A lot of exceptions to explain and I probably can't get into all of them here. I have a 5.3 but is has been upgraded to LS-6 specs all the way around. In addition I have changed many internals (cam, roller rockers, etc). Anyway the bottle is mounted in my left side saddle bag in the bed. I have 2 toggle switches in the cockpit one to arm the bottle and one to arm the system. I have a switch on the gas peddle that also allows nitrous flow (full throttle is the flow position). Lastly a chip in the engine compartment ensures nitrous is only flowing while the engine is between 3000 and 6200 RPM. All the parts (except rpm chip) were included in my system. It was a "Cold Fusion" system made specifically for LS engines. I've had it for over 3 years now so I'm sure the newer systems are even better. I don't know what kind of performance you can expect from a stock 5.3 but my modified motor is well into the low 12's. Yes I have had tranny work done too. I posted some nitrous info a couple of years ago that might be informational for you (I think when I posted it I misspelled nitrous, but I'm sure you can find it in the search.

Very interesting reading about your nitrous system.
Thx Buffalo: Rarely ever use the system it was just something fun and interesting to do...and a great conversation piece during car shows. First time I hit the button it scared the crap out of me. I don't post a lot because of some of the rude and uncalled for comments you might get. This forum used to be very gentlemen (and women) like but more recently there have been some personal attacks. I would like to think I could ignore them if one were to come my way but sometimes you just don't know. This is a fantastic forum for learning so much on our SSR's. OH YEAH and for anyone posting items please put the main idea of your posting in the title...it sure makes finding info easier. Later SSR friends.
Slicks: I think if you go to the cold fusion web site they have an installation guide posted.

I also used to post quite often, but after the key hole incident, and the `BUTT UGLY` comment I decided to just watch and read. Though today I decided it was payback time. Sorry, and I`m quoting Popeye, but "I can stands so much and I can`t stands no more"

I don't want to hijack my own thread and turn it in a direction not intended. BUT, I do appreciate everyone's input as long as they are not being AH's.
I have had many cars and been on MANY forums and there are these types of people on all of them. If you don't post to help others, it snow balls and everone (all the good ones) lose.
So, just keep on posting and we all (the good ones) need to stick together and chime in when some poster start their BS... I don't bow out for no one so, I'm here for the long run.

Hang in there slicks. There is a little hostility in the air from things said long ago. All of these guys are great and they share a real passion for the SSR. The written word is hard to manage in communication because it does not have tone, inflection or body language associated. Sometimes things escalate because of miscommunication or the possibility of someone just having a bur under the saddle from a long time back.
No worries...... You need to hijack your own threads occasionally, just to keep them from going divergent.... Remaining free of judgemental comments goes a long way toward peace and harmony....... Remember the diversity training we all had to endure in the last 15 years??????

Some of us are aware of not only Tension but other overwhelming personal circumstances as well. So if you read all of the Posts you will be more familiar with the people involved. Being Familiar with these problems helps one understand and let it go more easily. I think LT just did that. Thanks LT.

Slicks: This may take a day or so. I have the installation guide somewhere so let me see if I can dig it up. Pictures?? So you are going to make me work at it eh?? Ok I'll see what I can do. Later
Slicks here is the web site just copy it and put it in whatever browser you use. This is the kit I bought. In addition I bought a plate that goes in between the throttle body and MAF. It makes installation easy and you don't have to cut a hole anywhere to put the NOS nozzle in. I'm heading out to my shop here shortly to see if I can get some decent pictures.

I had a quote for a install of a zex system. But then my wife cut loose a O.K. to go with a magnacharger.
I was told a wet system is the safer way to go and to have a window switch to control when it is used.
You would need to run high octain all the time and not use a aftermarket tune other than a tune that works with this system.
What I have heard is we do not want to push more than 400hp through our stock 2003 trannys.
zex 75hp to125hp part# 82023 or 82047
zex window switch #82085
zex remote bottle opener #82009
zex purge kit #82010
labour to install clean ..... total parts and labour $1,947.00 in Detroit (street leagel customs on woodward)
