X15R 6 speed automatic trans

Has anyone done any research on the GM X15R 6 speed tranny fitting the SSR?

Supposedly Street and Performance of Mena Arkansas have a computer that will run both a late LS2 engine and the new 6 speed automatic. There are currently no other support systems available for this trans and it has unique physical and mounting characteristics which do not allow easy retrofit where the 4 speed automatic was removed. This is especially so in a vehicle like the SSR with very limited floor to trans clearence to begin with. I personally don't think the performance gap is great enough between the two to warrant the trouble and expense of conversion.

Thanks Greg. I originally wanted to install a 6 speed manual, but consider this to be an easier mod. I really don't mind the mods accept if I would have to modify the floor.

At least if you go six speed manual all parts can be purchased from salvage or new and you will not have any fabrication or adaptation to consider. Going to a six speed automatic is just two more gears of the same sensation, for me that is not worth reinventing the wheel.
