4th of July Parade, Lindale Park, Houston

It is that time of the year again and Lindale Park is again planning to have a 4th of July Parade. Each year, it gets bigger and bigger.

Once again, I will participate and invite my friends to join. I can be best reached at wayne@knappchevy.com.

As details emerge, I will let everyone know.

One year ago, GM decided not to renew Knapp Chevrolet's franchise to sell new Chevy's. Knapp started a saveknappchevy.com site. Bobby Knapp went to Austin and Washington and with Sheila Jackson Lee's support and connections, fought and won. The transport trucks should be arriving soon with much needed inventory. In the past week, KHOU, KPRC and Fox have all ran stories about our reinstatement.

Therefore, this years parade is even more important to us.

The line up normally starts at 9:00 AM with the Parade starting at 10:00 AM. Anytime prior to 9:00 AM at my house is good. Hopefully, we will be able to line up in front of my house again. That is much easier.

They have been doing a lot of construction on Irvington Blvd. Hopefully, it will not impact the parade.

I think a Camaro in the lineup would be great, look forward to seeing you John.

Sounds like fun. I'll do my best to be there. Are there other type cars there also like classics, etc.?

Yes, the Art Cars, Low-riders and some classic cars are in the parade.

Below is a link to the Lindale Park Website. I don't see the 2009 Parade, but you can see some of the photos from previous parades.

From The Officials:

Yes, when we do parade on Sunday's it is at Noon so that people can do church in the morning. Good news, I've checked online, the next time it falls on a Sunday is 2021!! So let's see I'll be....67 years old, so MAYBE I will be grand marshall!!!

So, it looks like 11:00 will be the line up. 12:00 starting the parade.

We have done the parade in the rain in the past. If it looks too bad, I would understand if someone prefers not to attend.

I received the parade line-up information. We are set to line up in front of my house again.

If anyone wants to see a copy, email me at wayne@knappchevy.com.

This is the latest information that I have received from the parade staff.

We're still getting a lot of calls / emails abt the parade's status. Basically, it's ON. Our permit is in place and we are set at this time to say it's GO: rain or shine. That being said, do your best to think positive thoughts, realistically, I understand that many of you may decide at the last minute not to participate bc of personal reasons. All the volunteer numbers are listed on the document we sent you, feel free to call your street organizer to inquire on status. I printed the line up one last time for you, and PLEASE do not fret if you come and are one car up or down the line up. The main thing to remember is that your SECTION WILL NOT CHANGE. Thanks again, we appreciate your dedication. ps - we have a last minute surprise entry, let's hope you come and enjoy some "rat a tat tat!" these corps is pretty dang good!! ;-) Best regards, Di

I still will plan on coming there if it is not raining. The line-up starts at 11:00AM so I will decide at 10:00AM if the weather will keep me from showing up.
