Afraid not this time... THe first two weeks of August, we have to do some serious sand castling down at South Padre Island. Then we come back for 4 days before we have to do some studies in Albuquerque, The Grand Canyon, Flagstaff, 4 corners, and Durango.

Nothing but study study,, study in August.

Can't take that kind of time off. Too busy assisting in the world wide search for hydrocarbons so that y'all can drive there.

Just keep up the good work. Oh, and make sure you keep paying your taxes so that I can remain retired.

Don,

Do it if you can.

It's an incredible event, and Debbie is the greatest hostess.

Bring some good walking shoes. After doing it wrong last year, my recommendation is to take the bus from the SSR parking area to as far down as you think you would want to walk back, and take in both sides of Woodward in one trip if something on the other side catches your fancy.

I would suggest going at least as far as the main GM feature area. Best guess is a 8 or 9 mile walk back.

The reason I know this, is that we walked towards it, made it as far as Coney Island restaurant GM display (not the main display area which was further away) , and it was pretty clear we wouldn't be catching a bus back. It's a damned long walk both ways.

Where else are you going to see 30000 cars and 1 million people over a 16 miles stretch of 8 lanes of rolling car show.
