Machell, I purchased a 4 year 48,000 service agreement when I bought my BEAST! It was pricey, but when the power invertor went out it paid for itself. I used the service agreement a LOT as mine covered power train and the RV parts (ie appliances, plumbing, roof A/C generator etc). There is a lot that can go wrong with any RV.

Jeff, thats something to consider, we will be buying from an individual, can you still get that ? Tell me about you insurance??
got a (Estimate) quote today, for 671 a year
how does that compare
if we get it, already thinking about future trips, have two family reunions next summer in the south(beaches) so probably take it and go around Florida a little

GoodSam has Service agreements available if you buy from an individual. I have my regular insurance through StateFarm, but Good Sam has some realy good rates (btw, GoodSam also finances at great rates!)

I shopped insanely for RV insurance for my new Airstream. Since my trailer was brand new but never sold by the dealer and is actually a 2006 trailer, no one wanted to give me coverage for anything near what I paid nor what it was worth. My trailer is a 1 of 1 handbuilt 75th Anniversary prototype and most of the regular insurers (State Farm, Geico, All-State, etc) would only cover me for market value on a trailer that's already 4 years old. We were talking half the value of the trailer right off the bat.
I found a company called Overland Rv Insurance who brokers most of their policies in my area through Progressive. They offered me a stated value plan...Progressive wouldn't actually offer it direct; seems the insurance business is amazingly convoluted. Anyway, Overland offered me full stated value of what I paid for as long as I have the policy, with coverage for contents, vacation liability insurance, and emergency expenses...plus they actually cover things in the RV that actually break (tv's, inverters, etc) that regular policies don't cover at all. The cost was $724 a year. I got so tired of calling a bunch of other companies and talking to people who sounded like they never insured an RV before and basically were clueless. Overland was painless; they knew exactly my concerns with my rare trailer and knew how to cover it. Their number is 800-624-6897; ask for Ron.
2 major things the RV will need
Tires and Air Bags, Air bags we found, and can get in stalled about $300 each
but the tires that are on it now are michelins, don't have those numbers but
the specs on the RV say originals (1997) were
GY 265-75-R22.5 Rears, 275-70-R22.5 Front
I can't seem to find these, anywhere, google shows Sumitomo and Toyo's but I can't find those locally yet,

Think bigger, 18 wheelers. Won't find the info online. Michelin still makes that size, BF Goodrich too. Call truck stops, or shops that specialize in big rigs. You'll find them there.

Also try Camping World, I think there is one in Ft Worth.

I knew it was an American something. I remember when we first started looking years ago I loved that line. I thought it looked like one becauase of the TV and the layout. Does the TV slide down? I cant remember if that started in the 97's or 98's.
if its not a SS ( SSR, TrailblazerSS or CamaroSS) I don't know
I know it has a diesel something or other and spartan chassy !

two things I liked, the door is all the way at the front, not in the middle, there are two seperate doors for the bathroom, on to block the bedroom and the other to block the kitchen area
The Tv is in the Dash and does go up and down, the kids love that feature! the TV has something wrong with it, you can touch it and the screen goes away, you can touch it and it will come back hard to watch, sometimes you don't even have to touch it
